It seems that one of the most obvious implementations of the Wii remote is going to become a reality. IGN is reporting that Samba de Amigo is actually coming to the Wii! No further details are yet available, but it already sounds "muy bueno!" So, this is yet another obscure Sega franchise getting a revival on Wii. Definitely a trend I like. Olé!

It definitely makes sense, with the dual motion sensing controls and all that. Do you think they'll create some kind of crazy maraca add-on or something? ;D

It could be a little hard to do the "Pose!!" moves with the controllers tethered together. Also, is the Nunchuck able to know whether it's being shaken at a low, medium or high height?

Also, is the Nunchuck able to know whether it's being shaken at a low, medium or high height? Should. I don't think it's motion is any different then the Wii Remote. Buit if it is a case, the they could bundle a maraca with kit to subvstiture the knunchuk.

Sweet! Samba de Amigo was a Dreamcast era game, so I've got a pretty good feeling about this despite my Sega grievances. It was also a "sister" game to Jet Grind Radio, since I believe one or two JGR songs were unlockable in SdA.
Yeah, you know where I'm going with this.

I thought the difference between the Remote and Nunchuck was that the Remote could detect its physical position in relation to the sensor bar, whereas the Nunchuck was simply like the PS3's Sixaxis in that it could only detect motion and orientation.

I don't think the thecnology is different, but it may be the case as the remote has a sensor in the front where the knunchuk doesn't.

The technology for the two of them is completely different. The Nunchuk is gyroscopic - it can detect movements, but not its position. On a related note... I originally thought that the sensor was integral, but apparently a pair of candles works just as well. I've even seen the Wii Remote work as a mouse pointer on the Mac. And no sensor bar in sight! Not sure HOW it works. Magic, I guess!

I've heard that the nunchuck has no pointing ability, if that helps at all.

I wish it did. That would be killer! Anyways, Samba de Amigo, if I'm not mistaken, was one of my favorite classic games of all time! If this game sucks, I will nod my head in shame.

If I'm not mistaken, Billy Hatcher got some bad ratings. A sequel would be even worse, as well as giving SEGA a worse reputation.
