This thread is for posting which third party games you're most looking forward to. Be sure to add a brief explanation of why you're interested in each game. Here's mine: Contra 4Of all games coming out this year, regardless of party or console, this is the one I'm most looking forward to. It's the 20th anniversary of the Contra series, and this one could return the series to its former glory. I'm hoping Contra will thrive on the DS the way Castlevania has. Ninja Gaiden: Dragon SwordFrom what I've been reading, I think this one has a chance at being the "Resident Evil 4" of the DS library. Kudos to Tomonobu Itagaki for having the ambition. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic GamesAside from the obvious gimmick of Mario and Sonic in a game together, not to mention the Olympic license (Sega has said that they're rendering the stadiums and other locations to be accurate to their real life Beijing counterparts), I'm just hoping it turns out something like Wii Sports. That would be enough to sell it for me. Soul Calibur: LegendsAn adventure game based on Soul Calibur is cool enough, but this kind of hack & slash action-adventure game is perfect for the remote+nunchuck. I just hope the controls end up "feeling" right. Tomb Raider: AnniversaryAgain, the main reason I'm interested in this one is because I enjoyed Legend on the 'Cube. I think this one will be a much cleaner port, tho. Nights: Journey of DreamsLike most (or all) of you, I never played Nights...Into Dreams on the Saturn, so I'm pretty curious about this one. Something interesting is that it will include the previous game's "A-Life" system, which was a precursor to the Chao gardens in the Sonic Adventure games. Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles or Ghost SquadMy list is a bit inflated, but I am interested in one of the light gun games. I'm just not exactly sure which one. They both look pretty cool. All right, your turn!

Sonic and Mario: same reason as you.
NiGHTS: same reason as you.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: It will be fun to use the force with the wiimote, and wiimote + lighsaber = WIN
Godzilla Unleashed: I loved the first two Godzilla fighting games, and this looks much better.
Untitled Sonic RPG: I love RPGs, and I love Sonic.
Sonic Riders: zero gravity: the first one was really good, and this looks better.
Vectorman 3: It's gotta happen some time, and when it does, I want it for the Wii.
Billy Hatcher 2: see vectorman 3.

My list so far:
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations The first Phoenix Wright game was amazing. The second one wasn't quite as good for the most part, but had a phenomenal enough final case that I still wanted more at the end. The third installment holds a lot of promise, and will probably be at least almost as great as the games I've played so far.
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams I'm one of an apparent few that has actually played the original, and I loved it. As long as this game captures the spirit of the first game, I'm sure I'll love this one too.
Sonic RPG Is this even still being made, seeing as BioWare just got purchased by a company that's competing with SEGA? If so, bummer, because the Sonic franchise needs more good games in its currently mixed bag of recent accomplisments.
No More Heroes This seems to remove all the problems I had issues with in Killer 7, while maintaining the quirky, over the top feeling from it (and Contact) that I loved so much. Hearing that you don't swipe the sword with your Wiimote in recent demos is still kind of lame, but I still have a lot of hope for this title.
Runaway: Dream of the Turtle It may just be a port, but I've always wanted a straight-up point and click adventure on the DS, and this may be the closest thing I'll get to that in a while. Though apparently it's a sequel? That'll be no fun if I haven't played the first one.
UPDATE 10/17/07:
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure Speaking of point and click adventures, this seems like a pretty neat example of the genre for Wii. I'll wait for impressions on this, but it could be great.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates A fantastically well done action RPG with online co-op play? Yes please.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers We know almost nothing about this game so far, but the superhero angle and the fact that the Wii is currently low on RPGs makes it enough to catch my interest.
King's Story Usually RTS's aren't my thing, but a lot of my favorite developers are at the helm. There's no way this won't be at least kind of awesome.

Phoenix Wright: T&T: I've finished the first two games, and am looking for more legal drama on my DS.
Soul Calibur Legends: I have wanted to play another SC game since Soul Calibur 2, and since SC3 was a PS2 exclusive (and was full of bugs), I've been waiting for another SC game to appear on a Nintendo console.
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles: I've been waiting for a light gun game ever since the days of the N64. And unlike RE4, I get an opportunity to blast zombies.

Phoenix Wright: T&T is slap bang at the top of my list. I am enjoying this series more than most first party games right now. And I'm also looking forward to the fourth game... but annoyingly I can't remember the new ace attorney's name NiGHTS looks interesting, but I plan on waiting for reviews. I've put my faith in Sega and been let down too many times now, with 3D Sonic games, and later with Billy Hatcher and the like. Please, Sega! Bring on the love! Other than that... I can't say much else is jumping out right now. Not that I can actually play on the systems I own, anyway. Some 360 games are looking good.

. And I'm also looking forward to the fourth game... but annoyingly I can't remember the new ace attorney's name It's Apollo Justice. Don't worry if you can't remember it, I keep confusing him with Apollo Creed from one of the Rocky films

Sonic RPGIs this even still being made, seeing as BioWare just got purchased by a company that's competing with SEGA? If so, bummer, because the Sonic franchise needs more good games in its currently mixed bag of recent accomplisments. According to Sega, Sonic RPG isn't being affected by the takeover BioWare are still busy working on it.

To elaborate
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2: I was planning on getting Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games but it's not as interesting as the hype has died down and Sonic is in Brawl. This game looks hilarious and better for multiplayer. First one was really good, and this one looks like a massive improvement
Final Fantasy Tactics A2:Big Tactics fan ya' know. Might be why I fell in love with Fire Emblem and Advance Wars quickly. But FFT was what started myy love for these games. I spent over 100hrs on tactics Advace so I'm definatly waiting for the sequal. Wonder when we'll get it?
I still want M&SatOG but will probably get it latter, after some impressions.
