We need a Soul Calibur IV thread, firstly because it looks awesome, secondly because BEWBS, and thirdly just in case some of you have somehow missed this: Trailer here: www.soulcalibur.com/Vader is exclusive to PS3 (lol its a big black metallic sort of thing), Yoda is exclusive to 360 (lol its green and prone to death). BEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWBS EDIT: 1UP suck. Screens have been fixed.

Holy shit that's awesome. If it comes out on Wii, who would we get? Chewbacca! ;D

I don't think there's a very big chance of the game being released for the Wii. The Wii got Soul Calibur Legends feature Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia.

Yeah, but didn't Legends suck? (from what I've heard...)

Take a look at the screenshots, and realise that if you want to play that game you need a console with more graphics processing power than the Wii. Then buy a 360, because there's absolutely no point buying a PS3 ;D

LittleBigPlanet disagrees. Sadly that, and I suppose now Darth Vader, are the only reasons to buy a PS3 over a 360. Oh and reliability. What good are you broken in a box under my bed, 360?
Also theres no way there would be a Wii version, but if there is its gotta be R2-D2 - Small... White and Blue... Gimmicky... fits like a glove.

It is kind of lame that they're separating the characters for the different platforms again. Now that Soul Calibur II is around eight dollars for each version though, it would be interesting to find out how the other guest characters played. It would technically be buying the same game two more times though.

Call me crazy but....
Star wars does not fit well with Soul Calibur. Not well at all. In fact, I think this is a really really stupid idea. I have nothing against Star Wars... I love the original movies and I even like Darth Vader... but he just doesn't belong in Soul Calibur. What is he doing there?!
And why put them on different consoles... so Yoda and Vader can not fight each other? Am I alone in thinking this is just a bad idea. I liked Link In Soul Calibur II, because Link is a videogame character and fit in well with the rest of the cast of Soul Calibur 2. Spawn didn't fit at all. A boring comic book character from the modern times... forcing his way into a medievil fighting game.... it just didn't work for me. And Heihachi... well... that's hardly a guest character at all.... and tekken sucks anyway.
But this... this is a bad idea.

This is daffy, yet awesome! The only thing is that, like Rygar said, Star Wars in Soul Calibur is an odd fit (as the two are distinctly different universes), and to be honest, I'd prefer to play as Vader anyway. The PS3 finally has something mildly worth investigating! (As LittleBigPlanet is on a perpetual schedule of delays)

This is something I would never have thought of ever seeing in a videogame before. I mean the female Spartan (from Halo) in that Xbox 360 Dead or Alive game seemed crazy at first and then to a lesser extent we had Snake in SSBB. Like others previously said this just does not seem to fit in the SC world.
All i want to know is how the hell did Namco manage to get Lucasarts permission to put these characters in this game. Apart from a very large pile of money.
But I have to admit DV and Y do you have been graphically rendered well into the game. Especially DV, his helmet is so shiny. That very top image also looks really photoshopable.
This also bring back memories of that giant old Smash Bros character screen that had DV and Luke Skywalker on it as well.

Fact that they don't really fit is what makes them hilariously awesome additions.
I guess now I know what the whole Yoda Vader thing is I read about here and there elsewhere.

Taking a science fiction universe like Star Wars and plopping characters from it into a realistic fantasy based game world is the stuff MUGEN is made for, not major game releases. I do not doubt that they will be fun to play as, but I do doubt that this makes a lick of sense. They don't look like they belong! This actually killed some of my interest in SC IV, which is quite counter productive to Namco Bandai's plans. *sigh*

I love Namco Fighting Games, For me it's all about Yoshimitsu. I mostly like the official artwork by Takuji Kawano, it's pretty realistic.
By wanderingshadow's opinion, I'd wish that Wii/Revolution should have more fighting games besides SC Legends.

It does. There's Guilty Gear XX for one, not to mention the Street Fighters and SNK fighters that can be downloaded via the VC. There will be more on the way, too - SNK plans to bring two compilations to the Wii, one for KoF and one for Samurai Shodown.

BUMP! Well it looks like Starkiller (Darth Vader's secret apprentice) from the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will appear in SCIV in both versions. Source.
