I don't know if this belongs in the Third Party forum or the NinDB general forum, or if it doesn't belong anywhere, but I thought this was interesting enough to pass along.
According to Kotaku, SegaNerds noticed that dreamcast.com is asking people if they still own a Dreamcast. It leads to a form where you can input your DC's serial number and some other info, and it seems to lead to the creation of a [serial number]@users.dreamcast.com e-mail account. No one seems to know exactly what the deal is yet.
I hope it's not a scam because I just signed up. Perhaps it's a preparation for a 10th anniversary celebration?

I still got mine. In fact I bought it about three years ago only.

I tried signing up, but apparently they've suspended the service because they've been flooded with account requests.

^ If they were trying to find out how many people still own Dreamcasts, I guess this answers their question. ;D

I'm afraid I traded mine in years ago for a bunch of Gamecube games. Which were then stolen in the Great Videogame Heist!

Eh, that's what I was afraid of. I had no intention of using that e-mail address anyway. I also have no idea what use they could get from knowing my DC serial number.
As for my regular e-mail address, it has pretty good spam protection, so I'm not too worried.
Anyway, my sincere apologies for posting this subject.

Eh, don't fret it, my friend. It happens. Fooled more than just us. The other board I frequent is loaded with Sega fanatics - they were tricked, too. It's all good. ^_^
