Funny thing is that the platform thing is more evident now when playing at the Brawl stage called Mario Bros. I've ever wanted some stage like that since they made that Mario Power Tennis court based on it. Crash, while recording some video, I just realized that the Save Hut song contains by itself some notes from the Float Islands stage (Kirby's Dream Land). Listen closely just before the end of the loop: (Kirby Super Star version)No wonder why it sounded so calm! Seems that this save hut tune is in more placews than we thought! Kinda like Totaka's Song. While I do think it's possible that the food items are a reference, don't you think it's just another ordinary game mechanic? I mean, a lot of games have a recovery system in this sort of way. Super Mario, Pokemon, Mega Man, they all have some very similar way of recovering: Pick up a damn recovery item

No, it's just a segment of a Kirby tune, used in various Kirby games, and then used again in All-Star Mode in SSBM. It's not a funky Easter Egg like Totaka's Tune

The only food item in the N64 game was the Maxim Tomato. I'm pretty sure there were other food items in it. Shy Guys used to carry them in the Yoshi stage.

No, not in SSB64. Shy Guys only appeared in the background there. You're thinking of SSBM
