Wow. Guess that answers the "will Deoxys be playable in Brawl" question. Just like he did with Tom Nook on Friday. I wonder if he's whittling down the more popular possibilities via update on purpose.

Deoxys was one of my top 5 wanted playable characters for Brawl, but I won't complain. That Hyper Beam looks spectacular and very unique. I guess the choice of only its Attack Form is because... he's attacking!
This makes me wonder if they'll cover every existing legendary Pokémon in some way. Or at least all up to the ones that will appear in the 11th movie.

Deoxys looks pretty cool and the hyper beam attack is quite orignal as well. Its not like other Poke Ball Pokemon attacks.

Did anyone see they changed the Pokemon symbol? It was altered on Pikachu's profile as well. Rather than being two separate halves, it's one full circle now. I think Sakurai's stylizing all the team symbols this time around; most of the others have been.

Bad. Deoxys had a LOT of potential for a playable character and was one of my favorites, but geez, I trust in Sakurai. If he couldn't do it, then it can't be done...
Hyper Beam should be the most powerful attack in the friggin' game, containing all Deoxys wrath for not being a newcomer, and making you lose all your lifes and the will to live. That should be fair.

Deoxys as a Poke Ball Pokemon is fine with me. Hyper Beam looks unlike anything the other Pokemon have done thus far, so I'm happy.

I'm fine with Deoxys as a Pokeball one. I'd rather have, say, Lucario instead.
I wonder if they'll confirm an Assist this week still. I gotta admit I look forward to those most of all (since all the Character updates so far have been confirming what we already expect).

Well, I just hope they don't use Mewtwo as a playable character again. He's cool and all, but he's still basically the same thing. I mean, there are over 490 Pokemon to choose from now. The only ones they need to bring back are Pikachu...and maybe Jigglypuff for nostalgic value.
I also agree to put in Lucario as a playable character, this seems like a likely choice too, because of the movie.

I never really liked Deoxys in the first place (a lot of negative stuff coming from my direction, right?), so this is good news to me. It means Mewtwo has a greater chance of returning--which I doubt, but he was my second-best character for Melee alongside Captain Falcon--or with Lucario being a newcomer, which strikes me as more fitting. And Lucario's design is awesomesauce. But I agree with Fry: it's good that Sakurai's paying more attention to the models this time rather than ripping them from the Stadium games (which I can't confirm he actually did for Melee, but it really looked like it). |

I just hope that the chances of getting Deoxys is rare seeing as Hyper Beam will cane anything badly. Though judging by the last screenshot, it looks pretty easy to avoid - much easier than Ho-Oh's fryfest in Melee
