The first Metroid game I ever played was actually Metroid II, which then became one of my favorite Gameboy games. I love how creepy the little blips and bleeps of the music manage to sound, and I love the metamorphoses of the metroids. This game definitely got me hooked on the series. I then went on to become a huge fan of the original (which I still suck at) and Super (probably my favorite 2D Metroid game). I think Fusion is really cool too, mainly because the addition of Adam allows it to be more story-driven than the other games. But my vote goes to Prime for its incredible re-imagining of one of my favorite game series of all time.

I love the Metroid Prime Series, especailly the second one was the first franchise that had multiplayer death matches

Apparently its a new 2D Metroid for the DS that was supposed to be unveiled at E3, but never was. It may or may not actually exist, but it seems to have taken on a "Mario 128" presence of just being used instead of saying "New 2D Metroid"

Since I only have played Metroid Prime and MP2: Echoes, I'll have to go for Metriod Prime. Once the rev comes out I'll download Super Metroid and see what all the fuss is about for myself.

I'd be interested in know what someone thinks who started with the 3D Metroid games and then goes back to the 2D games. Please post your opinion whenever you do play Super Metroid (my personal favorite of the Metroid series and one of the top SNES games of all time, IMHO). |

Well, I won a new SNES off eBay, meaning in about a week or so, I'll finally be able to play Super Metroid, and after that, I might have a new favorite.

I just got super metroid at the flea market yesterday. Its worth it after searching for it for 3 years.
