The original Metroid game is my favorite because it gave me a big challenge.

I am a bit of a latecomer to the Metroid series, and I've enjoyed a lot of them... but Fusion was the first one I ever completed. I loved all the little references to other games (especially Metroid 2).
While most people fell in love with Metroid or Super Metroid first, it was Fusion that was my true awakening to the series.

Metroid 2 was my first, so it has a special nostalgia factor for me. But I'd say it was a toss up between it, Fusion, and Prime 2. Hmm...

Well, I haven't played Metroid 2 or Zero Mission. The original Metroid is to hard for me. And the punishment for sucking is to high.(Dieing means you have to spend an hour trying to get your health back up to 100%) I didn't like MP2 as much as the first Prime. It was probably because there was no Ridley and the few Metroids in the game were really weak. Metroid Fusion was ok, but not as good as others. So that leaves Super Metroid and Metroid Prime. I'd have to say I like Super Metroid best. So in order my favorites are:
Super Metroid Metroid Prime Metroid Fusion Metroid Prime 2 Metroid MZM & M2

Prime.
I played them all except Super, Prime 2, and MZM
And I own Super Metroid... but my SNES is broken.

I actually just got it a few days ago for 20 dollars (worth it!), I can't wait to play it.

The original and Super are all I need to play. Super is all I want to play. Zero Mission replaces Metroid pleasantly enough for me.
I have Super Metroid, but I haven't got around to performing the sacred rituals required to get my SNES to work.

The original Metroid is my favourite Metroid Game because it doesnt tell you where to go next, you have to figure out where to go by yourself

I only started playing Metroid back when Fusion was realeased, and have now played Fusion, ZM, Prime and Prime 2. Of those, I'd go for Prime. Its Atmospheric, its beautiful, its fantastic. I love it.
I find it kind of strange that with all the SNES games we had on GBA that we never saw a re-release of Super Metroid, which is one of the ones I would have bought straight away. I'll be downloading it onto my Rev ASAP. Don't know how I'll play Metroid II, though.

Let's see, the only Metroid games I played are Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime. I never really liked the first Metroid... I liked Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion a lot though, but my favourite has to be Metroid Prime. So I'm voting for that one.

Where's Hunters!? Where!? ...I don't know if you noticed, but Hunters isn't actually out yet. Only the demo version... and basing an opinion on a demo isn't a good idea - especially as the game has undergone some drastic changes since then.

(The games are listed from my favorite to least favorite) Super Metroid is NO DOUBT the best one. It is the toughest game, and the longest one too. Metroid Prime was beautiful and was REALLY similar to Super Metroid. Metroid Fusion was short but an awesome game to revive the series during its seven year absence. The suspense was terrific. Metroid Zero Mission was the original plus more. But it was way too easy. It still helped prove the Metroid wasn't all Prime. Metroid Prime 2 was not as good as its prequel, but worthy of adding to the collection. I never played Metroid II, and the original is much too difficult because it doesn't have save points. I cannot wait for Metroid Dread and Hunters, and I pray the Metroid Prime Pinball does not ruin Samus's reputation. (p.s. Wouldn't it be cool if a new 3D Metroid game came out. One that is not of the PRIME series, so it is not a first-person shooter game. It'd be a game similar to Ocarina of Time or Mario 64. I think that'd be awesome )

Where's Hunters!? Where!? ...I don't know if you noticed, but Hunters isn't actually out yet. Only the demo version... and basing an opinion on a demo isn't a good idea - especially as the game has undergone some drastic changes since then. I know that judging a game by some early release is not a good idea, but it WILL be here soon. So if that's the case, does the pool need to be updated? Anyway, here's my opinion, as I haven't said anything here yet. Super Metroid: I once had it, but since I had no patient at that time, I soon returned it with the game progress of about 7%. Prime: I saw a speedrun of it, and found myself very confused with the graphics. I think it's just that the game is being played quickly only though. Prime 2: I, again, saw a speedrun ( I love speedruns! It let me see complete movies of games that I don't have!) of it, this time its graphics are clearer. I have no comment on this game. Hunters demo: quite some fun. I don't know if I like the final game, though. Game Boy Metroid games: Haven't played them. (I voted for nothing since I'm not too familiar with this series)
