What the heck is a Footstool Jump?!
Well, it’s a cool technique. Basically, you step on your opponent and jump off!
That’s it!Jump! Now press the jump button with perfect timing...Boing!And then you jummmmmmmmp!Using your enemy’s spine like a spring to launch you into the air is pretty fun.
What? You say it doesn’t have much strategic value?
No, no, no. That’s hardly the case. You can use it to perform Meteor Smashes! Incredible!

Pretty interesting new addition to the game.
Is'nt this move the orignated from the Mario games from when you land (after jumping) on an enemy and then jump afterwards to jump higher?

Yes, darobot! ^_^ But this also reminds me of that legendary game called Mario Bros. I wonder how many other platformer elements will we see besides ladders, ridable crates, and stompable heads. Will there be doors you can enter by pressing Up?

Does this mean characters won't pass through each other like ghosts any more? If so... this is a much bigger update than any of you are giving it credit for. You can STAND on the other characters. They are solid and have form. Jiggly won't be able to use Rest!!

I think you're wrong there. Sakurai said you had to time it correctly. I'm assuming that if you don't, you'll just fall through your opponent like normal. At least that's what I'm hoping.

When I saw this update, I immediately thought "Mario Bros." I like this change.
Oh, and I think Jigglypuff's Rest can still work. Sakurai said you had to time this. Press up or a jump button at top of your opponent's head to footstool jump. Nothing about attack buttons.

It's like Sakurai read my mind. The Meteor Smash is how you smash people through the floors of Skyworld.

The timing thing... you may be right. Personally I am kinda hoping the characters are more solid and you can stand on them. The timing thing may just mean if you want to get the extra height on the jump, you have to time it.
Maybe... ;D

I'd rather have them be ghost like. IOf they were solid, then it would make the game a bit harder to play(as now you can't go though people and have to go over/under them).
I can see that it will probobly be useful for Meteor Smashes. Just bounch off their head and come back down on them. A little more of a rookie messure though.

Remember that you need to run past your foes in order to pass them a Gooey Bomb that has sticked to you.

Yeah, Gooey Bomb proves the characters are not solid like always. They are solid only when you attack them or footstool jump them.

COOL! I hope you can also press the grab button to lift your opponents from the top (I.E. Doki Doki Panic/SMB USA)

Now, now, now... That Doki Doki Panic grab would go to Toad if he's in. That's his trademark. Everyone else got different grabs as always.

Jump button.....? I use "up" for jumping! What's going on there?
Well, I love this update. The game's going to be better! I wonder what's next... Underwater action?
