It wasn't a roaring success, but trumped bigger, better games on Gamecube, such as F-Zero GX. It's still high in the sales figures for a Gamecube title.

Sometimes you just have to take the bad with the good. Hell, I know I wouldn't have opted for Yoshi's Story style Yoshi, but you don't see me whining like a gonzo and pretending to slit my wrists over it. If you don't like Donkey Konga... well tough titties! The sales figures say you're in a minority. I would've loved to play Donkey Konga, it looked like an interesting game, but sadly, I don't own a Gamecube. Therefore, I don't see why people are mad at DK for playing the Bongos. That would be like getting mad at Nintendo for Cel shading Link...whoops, guess people did do that. Times are changing and developers are trying new things. I encourage them. No matter what a company does, there is always someone who complains.

It's Taiko Drum Master with two drums, no sticks and a crappy song selection.

You can either *&^%$ about it, or you can get over it. Which is it going to be?

And be grateful that Mario's Final Smash isn't "DDR Finale" or something. Tho that game DID have better music than Konga...

It's Taiko Drum Master with two drums, no sticks and a crappy song selection. I only played the first Donkey Konga--but on all three points I do have to agree with you. It is a two-drummed, no-sticked Taiko Drum Master, and the songs fucking blew. Staind and Blink 182 have NO BUSINESS[/u][/b] being in a franchise game. XD So no, I didn't really enjoy it all that much--but the bongos don't bug me really. It is what it is XD

Yes, but the US did get a nobby song selection compared to Japan and Europe. Drumming to 99 Red Balloons? Brilliant!
And 99 Red Balloons go by.... nanana na nanana! Nananana nananaa!!
Some of 'em sucked, but you can't please everyone. Some of them f'ing ruled!

It's also got Queen's Don't Stop Me Now, which is pretty sweet. Come to think of it, I wonder if they sneakily censored the line: "I'm a sex machine ready to reload"... it's been a while since I last played so I don't remember.

But the US release... Oy vey. That was a lost cause. Sometimes I hate our stupid copyright laws in this country

I was quite impressed with the lack of censorship. They didn't cut out any references to smoking in the Supergrass song, they kept the word "sex" in... Yays!
