Wario, Yoshi and DK are all in the same boat; they have their roots in Mario, but have gone into their own series. The only difference is that DK has been at it for much longer than the other two. Yoshi games, too, are prone to involving Mario too.
So the chances of Waluigi showing up as anything more than an Assist Trophy are pretty slim.

Wario's Ware outfit being there makes it harder to see Waluigi in there. If it were standard, it would be easier.

They both spun off from the same source, went their separate ways, and but somehow remained tied by a thin rope. This was evident by DK's appearances in minor Mario titles, yet none of it was really Rare-related except for DK's new design, until Rare got sold off. Now Nintendo seems to be trying to make them closer together again. PAON seems to have other intentions...

Wario hasn't done anything with Mario in his own games since the first Wario Land... and that was just a tiny cameo of Mario at the end. Yoshi on the other hand has had very few games that weren't derivative of Mario. Like uh. Topsy Turvy. And that's pretty much it.

Anyways, my money's now on just some generic AC fighter. OR they just remove Tom Nook from the level when you play as him... They did it with Falco in Adventure Mode

I beg to differ. Mario and Wario are always fighting, five seconds at a time, in WarioWare. More involved than in Wario Land, at any rate

We built this [Diamond] city on rock and roll retro gaming.
That explains it. Otherwise, Mario and Wario seem to only fight in games where Mario has top billing.

To get back on track, I love this item. I didn't expect it, but it's perfect for Brawl. When I found out about it yesterday, I was quite jazzed. Inspired choice, Sakurai and team. ^_^

Actually, they have a lot of nintendo characters...but that's just him playing video games... Eh...whatever.
