This item appeared in the game Animal Crossing. Bury it in the ground and it becomes a trap. If you love playing tricks on others, this item can’t be beat. When you throw a Pitfall at the ground...It vanishes! When someone touches it, PLUNK!Now’s your chance. You can’t help but grin.
Incidentally, it also has an effect if you simply hit someone with it instead of setting it in the ground. If you get hit by a Pitfall, you’ll drop through pass-through floors!Getting thoroughly fooled by a trap like this... It’s pretty humiliating.

Another Animal Crossing reference in the game! Never saw this coming.
Its a good idea for an item. An item that would be better in most situations to thrown at the terrain instead of your opponent.

Haha, neat! I kind of thought we'd get this as an item, and it works well.

Funny item. I guess it could get a Bonus points category of its own, being an invisible trap.
... Nobody else was drowsy and thought they were talking about Activision's Pitfall?

Hey I just realized something. This is the first item update that is from a Nintendo property besides Smash Bros. and is NOT a "character/Pokemon summoning" item! This is great, because I really want a nice balance of original items and stuff from actual games.

Yay! They added it! Probably one of the more requested items if you ask me So... does this confirm an AC character? They definitely wasted one of those 18 "world logos" with the AC leaf for two good reasons so far. Could they make it a third? Who would be playable?! EDIT:Here is the current symbol list, for a reminder: 1. Smash Bros 2. DK 3. Star Fox 4. Kirby 5. F-Zero 6. Metroid 7. 8. Pokemon 9. Zelda 10. Mario 11. Yoshi 12. 13. 14. 15. Animal Crossing 16. Wario 17. 18. Kid Icarus

I'm so happy! I loved to plant a pitfall behind a tree so that my brother or sister wouldn't notice it and fall in. Pitfall may become my new favorite item.

This item looks delightfully silly. I approve! EDIT:Here is the current symbol list, for a reminder: 1. Smash Bros 2. DK 3. Star Fox 4. Kirby 5. F-Zero 6. Metroid 7. 8. Pokemon 9. Zelda 10. Mario 11. Yoshi 12. 13. 14. 15. Animal Crossing 16. Wario 17. 18. Kid Icarus If logic follows what you (or someone) said earlier, then Earthbound is #7. Ness plz.

I think this would be great in a map setting such as this ------ --------- ------------ ---- ^It goes here and easy win...seems a little cheap though. This item looks delightfully silly. I approve! EDIT:Here is the current symbol list, for a reminder: 1. Smash Bros 2. DK 3. Star Fox 4. Kirby 5. F-Zero 6. Metroid 7. 8. Pokemon 9. Zelda 10. Mario 11. Yoshi 12. 13. 14. 15. Animal Crossing 16. Wario 17. 18. Kid Icarus If logic follows what you (or someone) said earlier, then Earthbound is #7. Ness plz. I just thought of something. Since Bowser has the same symbol as Mario, and Luigi always has the same as Mario, why does Wario have his own symbol? Waluigi anyone?

I just thought of something. Since Bowser has the same symbol as Mario, and Luigi always has the same as Mario, why does Wario have his own symbol? Waluigi anyone? As you have noticed, this Wario is from his own series of games, especially the WarioWare set. Waluigi is not from the Wario games, but from Mario side games... Not only it lowers Waluigi's chances to appear in SSBB, but it also makes you think he could have the Mushroom symbol as opposed to the "W" symbol. 9-Volt for Brawl!

Wario isn't the only one with his own symbol. What about Yoshi? Like Johans Nidorino said, it's because they both have their own game series.

Then, Waluigi aside, as Johans also mentioned, this could mean Warioware characters! I'd like to see Jimmy dancing around the stage....wait they could just be Assist Trophies then, I don't really see them as actual characters.

New items... Pitfall Seed from Animal Crossing: Wild World would be fun to use. You simply throw it on the ground to "bury" it.. Anyone who steps on this spot gets buried underground as if they were hit by DK's side B move. I just think it's worth mentioning when someone guesses one of these.
