7 is definitely Mother, everything else from the original SSB is confirmed. 12, 13 and 14 are (Most likely) from SSBM, and thus should be Ice Climber (Aisu Kuraimâ), Fire Emblem (Faiâ Emuburemu) and Game & Watch (Gçmu ando Uotchi). 17 is probably Metal Gear (Metaru Gia Soriddo, which would still be in alphabetical order), and there's most likely something after 18 (I hope, at least).

Some popularly suggested franchises and their possibility now:

Bomberman: Bonbaman, see Castlevania's notes below.
Castlevania: If one of the SSBM franchises drops out, #14 would be free for the taking as long as the letter comes before D. Akumajou Dracula would thus fit.
Dragon Quest: Doragon Kuesuto, no returning the favour for Itadaki Street I'm afraid!
Final Fantasy: Fainaru Fantajî, no returning the favour for Hoops 3-on-3/Slam Basketball either!
Mega Man: Rockman, still possible.
Nintendo Wars: Not possible. Famicom Wars falls inbetween AC and Wario Ware.
Ouendan: Not possible. Falls inbetween Metal Gear (If it is 17) and KI (Assuming it is Ouendan and not EBA, but EBA'd be out as well, so that's a moot point).
Pac-Man: Pakku-Man, not possible. Comes just before KI. HOWEVER, if it's his ORIGINAL Japanese name, Puck-Man, it's still possible.
Phoenix Wright: Not possible. Gyakuten Saiban falls between AC and Wario Ware.
Pikmin: Pikumin, still possible.
Sonic: Sonniku, still possible.
Street Fighter: Sutorîto Faitâ, still possible.

Random classic Nintendo series that are still possible and have (If you ask me) good possible fighters (Hey, Ice Climbers and Game & Watch made it in SSBM after all!): StarTropics, Wave Race, Wrecking Crew (Rekkingu Kuruu)

If we analyze this, we can see that Fire Emblem should've been in spot 13. However, it is number 12, meaning that the spot just above it, Aisu Kuraimâ(Ice Climbers), has been knocked out.

I'm calling shinanigens on it, but I thought I'd let you guys pick at it. Expecially since alphabetically it wouldn't work. I the chunk of 3, if that were true, that means that there would ge Game & Watch and then something else. Which, would have to be before D. I'm not sure any Nintendo Franchise has that that hasn't been mentioned, or would be Brawl worthy. Chibi-Robo is the only one that comes to mind.

My first action will be to discredit it thus:

This theory requires the Japanese romaji characters - but any reader of Japanese could tell you that alphabetical order is COMPLETELY different in Japan.

It requires Japanese spelling, and English ordering. Somehow I find that a little unlikely.

Nice list. So is this only alphabetical in Japanese names? If so...why is Dôbutsu no Mori near the bottom? I don't really understand this. Please forgive me...-_-

Not only just what Fry said, but Zelda isn't called Rinku... It's Densetsu no Zelda or something like that, but not Rinku

But if you look at the list, all of them except "Metroid" COULD be character names rather than series names. I still say it's bunkum.

Except Hoshi no Kâbii but, yeah. It seems as if the person manipulated factors so that it would point in his/her favor. In Japan, it's F-Zero, like it is hear. But he used "Capt. Falcon" in Japanese. That doesn't work. Same for Fox, and probobly Mario.

Actually, it's Zelda no Densetsu. If it was "Densetsu no Zelda", it would have been called Zelda of Legend.

The problem you have is just that yours usses a bigger image. You can make it smaller, but it would be a bit much. It'sd fine the way it is though. Mine was easier to make neater as I did it from scratch, and had a bit more wiggle room.
