Heavy characters that have special moves that don't make them flinch...Now that is a pretty cool idea.
Also he does not have Marth or Roy's special moves, so he is not a clone. Yes!

Man, where's Parrothead? I waited a while, but it looks like he didn't make it online or something. Hope it's okay that I covered for him this time.
Anyways, neat! I give Sakurai a "hmph" at showing us Ike's moves before he shows us Zamus's, but we learned a few things from this update.
1) Ike is more like Roy than he is Marth, and his Up-B is actually fairly unique (though it has some similarities to Kirby's Up-B) 2) It seems like Heavyweight characters will be more balanced this time, due to no flinching during cerain specials. 3) Ike apparently IS a heavyweight, or at least probably slower and heavier than Marth. 4) Ike looks pretty fun to play as.
Man, I was still hoping for a music update, though. Hopefully we'll get it tomorrow.

His up-B makes me think of Kirby's Up-B, and his normal B makes me think of Roy's. I start to think Marth and Roy would be killed.
And it's good to see you made it this fast to post the update. Well done.

As YoungLink said, his B attack reminds me a lot of Roy's. I'm guessing Roy's gone, but its looking up for the Marthster to stay.

Parrothead warned me when I offered him this forum's Mod status that he wouldn't necessarily be able to post every single day. He's not protective of it though, so if someone else notices that we don't have a topic after a little while, feel free to post it.
On this update... excellent stuff! It looks like they've gone for a different style to beloved Marth... which hopefully means that beloved Marth will return!

I apologize for not posting the thread about this update, because my Internet connection got messed up. I tried to finish it as soon as possible, but then it didn't come back on soon enough.
In my opinion about this update: Ike's Eruption looks and sounds similar to Roy's Flare Blade (Neutral B) move, more than Marth's Shield Breaker (Neutral B) move.

It doesn't really show what it does at all... all we have to go on is one pic. Which isn't much. For all we know, it could somehow be more similar to DK's B move.
EDIT: Well, it does also say you can charge it up.

Throwing a sword and catching it in midair is pretty badass. I like it.
Looks like the last shot is from Rumble Falls. Same sky colour and everything, and there's one of those big vines in the background.

Aether looks super cool. I remember reading that Ike could recover health by using Aether, so I'm wondering if that'll translate to Brawl.
Eruption is pretty cool. Since I imagine that Ike will be replacing Roy, I imagine Eruption is similar to Flare Blade.

I imagine the whole healing aspect of Aether is translated into the "no flinching" bit of the attack.
What bugs me is that this doesn't say Marth is out, and it doesn't bug me that it more or less confirms Roy is out, but the issue is that this is very similar to Marth. Not too similar, but it's almost as if.. well, Sakurai may not include Marth this time around. The Up B is more akin to Kirby's, and is different enough, but it is remniscient of Marth's. And I can't imagine his A moves being too different either, now that we're seeing more of him in action.
I hope my theory still stands, tho, that since Ike is heavy they have to have Marth who's light. We'll see.
Still, a cool update. But wtf happened to Peach? And Meta Knight? Or better yet, Ice Climbers?!
EDIT: Can we actually see him slashing his sword with Eruption? Looks more like he's crouching and casting the attack to me.

Ike totally has is sword buried in the ground in that picture of Eruption; I don't think it's anything like Roy's Explody Sword move at all, especially since the fire looks like it's coming up from the ground rather than in line with Ike's torso.
Also, Aether is badass! Up until this point we've never seen a swordfighter part ways with his blade as part of an actual combat maneuver. That's neat!

His sword is in the ground. Probably suggesting it's a magic attack and will hurt people behind you as well. Does Aether knock the characters close to him up as well like we're seeing with Samus or do you think that thats just for demonstration.

As almost everyone has been saying, his up+B is very similar to kirby. Which sucks though cause if you are falling and you've pressed up twice, but you are still not at the ledge, you're up+B will basically make you fall faster.

A lot of characters had both horizontal and vertical recoveries, though. Captain Falcon/Ganondorf, Fox/Falco and Luigi are some prime examples, so it's entirely possible Ike will be given another special move that gains some horizontal ground (as Aether appears mostly vertical). If not, that's okay--they'll probably balance him out through some other method.
