Hmmmm, Eruption wasn't an in game move was it? It looks like it just makes an explosion from the ground. So, it seems Ike will play similar to how Roy played. At least the in the fray part.

Why is he showing only two random ones and not all four?! That's what Sakurai's been doing for characters since he relaunched the site. Have you been under a rock the whole time, or are you just venting frustrations that he's still doing it? EDIT: Can we actually see him slashing his sword with Eruption? Looks more like he's crouching and casting the attack to me. I was under the impression that he was plunging his sword into the ground, and that's what causes the explosion. Ike doesn't really do the magic thing, does he? Of course, no reason he couldn't be "borrowing" a move from another FE character, much like how Ness has PSI Fire and Thunder when he never got those moves in Earthbound.

I like these moves. Ike's Aether move is a great anti-air (which is less signifigent in Smash Bros. than in most Capcom/SNK fighters), if from what the shots show is correct. It even launches opponents in the air! What a boon for a Up + B move. His Explosion technique is a bit similar in how it's controlled in comparison to a Marth/Roy Shield Breaker, but the execution is quite different. It reminds me of Magneto's Magnetic Shockwave super in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. It appears the fire erupts from the ground in a path away from him. Sure, it appears that you charge it in a similar fashion to a Shield Breaker, but this move doesn't look like one that could be charged in the air - Ike shoves his sword into the ground to perform it. I'm thinking it may fall under a Charge Beam/Giant Punch method and you have to be grounded to properly use it, or maybe Ike will slam downwards if done in the air.
As far as I know, Eruption isn't a spell or move in FE:PoR, but I'll check when I get home if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Why is he showing only two random ones and not all four?! Why not? He doesn't want to give everything away.

Why is he showing only two random ones and not all four?! Think about the trophies in SSBM - one was a character profile, one described 2 special moves, and one described the other two special moves. This is basically the same thing - he's revealing two at a time. The fact he's only revealed Newcomer special moves so far makes me think he's probably not going to do everyone else at all. So it's only two per newcomer you have to worry about - which fills up a bunch more update slots before the game is released!

That up special does look a almost identical to Kirby's... maybe Kirby has been given a new one?

I do hope he shows thee special moves that got a revemp. Maybe he evwen added some. Also, it it a bit odd he hasn;t shown us a character yet. i could have sworn Peach would be Monday.

We'll probably see another Pokemon or assist trophy this week. Nothing to spectacular though. Next week'll probably be awsome.

The pattern seems to go Good Week, Bad Week, Good Week, Bad Week, etc. etc.
Tomorrow'll be some lame Assist or something. I doubt we'll get a Stage. Maaaaybe Music.
Now something nobody's discussing is that crazy no-flinch thing. Is that just after the attack? Or all the time? And does Bowser get that? DK? Link? Samus? Damn that is cool

So it's only two per newcomer you have to worry about - which fills up a bunch more update slots before the game is released! Actually something interesting about the updates. There seems to be a set slot on each profile for a single Special Moves update (meaning two moves), and a Final Smash. The profile itself is the first slot, the Special Moves update is the second, and the Final Smash is the third. This doesn't leave room for a second Special Moves update. Let me illustrate my point. Here is a link to Ike's profile: www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/ike.htmlHere is a link to his Special Moves: www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/ike.html#2ndIke doesn't have a Final Smash yet, but here is a link to Donkey Kong's: www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/donkeykong.html#3rdSo this shows a few things: 1. More of the returning characters will probably have Special Moves updates at some point, because otherwise they have an empty slot which is odd. 2. All the characters, including Newcomers, might only have a single Special Moves update. Which means we'll have to wait till the game comes out to find out the other two B-moves they have. This actually makes sense, because we're supposed to be getting a preview here. I don't think Sakurai wants us to know everything about the characters before we even play the game.

Well when you're expecting some awesome stage or character to appear and it's an assist, it's a letdown. And really now... Dr. Wright was a worthy update?
