I always carry my GBA with me on vacations.

I've got Game & Watch Gallery 2 in my GBA now. Always a good game for long journeys. Or Dr. Mario! I'd advise against the DS for a car or train journey... accuracy goes right out of the window when you're rattling around... as I discovered with my attempts to communicate with my brother and sister with Pictochat!

I've been playing wireless play in cars before, and there's nothing to worry about
On contrary, the GBA just carries no backlight... So the DS is much more preferrable (Unless it's easy for you to lose styluses)
As for G&W gallery, I think 1 is much better than 2 or 3 because of Oil Panic.

I've been playing wireless play in cars before, and there's nothing to worry about I think he means using the stylus is difficult, so communicating is difficult because it comes out as bunch of gibberish. I tried WarioWare Touched in the car once - indeed, it is quite hard. Not as hard as Twisted would be, I'd imagine, but still...

I don't have to much trouble playing my DS in the car. It depends on how bumpy the road is and how much accuracy the game requires. I haven't tried using Pictochat, though.
