I don't know that "Heroes always arrive late" is a reference to anything. That's just the kind of feeling the song has. I can imagine male and female player being surrounded by Tom Nook's mob. Suddenly, this music starts to play and it's K.K. Slider wearing a black masquerade mask to the rescue. Sort of a cross between Zorro and El.

What the hell, today is Totaka's birthday. Maybe that explains the double update.

That would make sense, as both Yoshi and K.K. Slider are Kazumi Totaka's babies (well, he voices them both anyway).
The MGS update also makes sense. Fingers crossed!!
This arrangement is excellent. Do you think this is the general Smashville stage music, or the song K.K. Slider sings at 8pm?

I think this theme may be the stages BGM.
Also, we'll see if we get any Snake stuff. I doubt it a little since we can't know hidden characters.
EDIT:parrot, you should really add Yoshi's to.

The phrase "Heroes arrive late," as well as the title of the song ("Go! KK Rider!") and the song itself don't mean anything. It's a reference to Kamen Rider, which is one of several popular Super Sentai (that's the original Japanese version of Power Rangers to you lot) styled television shows, as previously mentioned. But if anyone ever watched Power Rangers or stuff like that, think back to that: do the Power Rangers ever head off a monster really quickly? They can't, because the show has to drag on for however long it is. So there's always a bit of downtime, then the monster shows up and does some damage, and the Rangers show up late because they were still on their downtime.
This is more exaggurated in Sentai/Kamen Rider, because drama is much more centrifugal in the original versions, but you can still see a little bit of it here.

Yeah, TEi... I sense more of Kamen Rider than anything... maybe because I'm living with one of those Kamen fans?
And... MGS update? Hmm... I'm interested (although I STILL dislike the inclusion after all these days)... Will Snake ever get a stage or something? A paper cardboard as an item, perhaps?
Anyway, Animal Crossing to me is more like a stage-only entity...

Well, this rules out Totaka's Song appearing in the backround music of Smashville. Could it appear somewhere else?

It's being personally designed by Kojima himself.

I made a post, but apparently the damn thing never loaded. Oh well... I enjoy this mix a lot, and I really hope we get some more AC action in the game. My money's on the AC Female appearing as a fighter, but we'll just have to see.
