Now that we have proof that the Subspace Emissary will have unplayable boss characters, I think this thread is in order. What characters do you think will make it from various Nintendo Franchises to serve as NPBs like Petey? Let's hear your thoughts on this.
Personally, I anticipate the following characters:
Gohma (Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess): This boss has been around since at least the Ocarina of Time, if not longer (the 2-D Zelda games are a blur to me). Utilizing its latest body, the Armorantula (or whatever it was), Gohma would latch itself to the ceiling to shoot you with blotches of web and launch Gohma eggs onto the ground. Do enough damage to cause Gohma to lose its grip; it'll fall down to the ground where it becomes vulnerable for a time before trying to trample you with its massive hairy legs.
Black Shadow (F-Zero X): This villain serves as Captain Falcon's arch-nemisis and is considerably bulkier than the bounty hunter. Notorious for his evil deeds and dirty tactics, Black Shadow would muscle you around with his incredible mass and may even attempt to impale you on the horns of his helmet.
Andross (Star Fox 64): Replacing Master and Crazy Hands (maybe), Andross will keep his head in the background while you attack his hands, then lunging forward to make you into lunch--this is where he becomes vulnerable. He'll suck in debris and exhale it back out at you. He'll also perform a lot of moves that Master and Crazy did back in the other two games, except more frequently synched up. And if not Andross, then...
Pigma Dengar (Star Fox: Assault): ...this guy deserves a run for his money. With Star Fox Command proving that this selfish porker is not only immortal but perpetually adaptive, Pigma could come in any number of forms to attack the player, maybe even changing forms mid-battle.
King K. Rool (Donkey Kong Country): With Diddy Kong now serving as the DK franchise's second representative, K. Rool's inclusion as a playable character seems slim at best. He has a history of moves to draw from, I guess...I dunno, I never got to him. Maybe he'll use some boxing moves from DK64 or fire a cannon or something.
Mewtwo (Pokémon RBYFRLG): Assuming good ole Mewt' isn't returning in a playable sense, it'd be a no-brainer for him to serve the purpose as a boss, being evil in influence. He'd attack with a multitude of psychic attacks that are far heavier than what we saw in Melee.
