Nearly six months of updates and we finally get Meta Knight! I think that Sakurai meant "delayed for some reason" as in he couldn't be bothered (jk) EDIT: What was the name of his sword again?

Another possibility is that the "reason" will make itself known in the next few days. Perhaps there's a major update due - the Halberd stage? Its position in the story? I don't doubt there's more to that throwaway comment than meets the eye.
In the anime his sword is called "Galaxia", but it isn't referred to as this in the game. When you get his sword in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, it is referred to as "Master".

EDIT: What was the name of his sword again? I think it's Galaxia. I'm about 95% sure about that.

Meta Knight is so great. I can't wait to play as him. Also, without his mask, he looks like a blue Kirby! I never noticed that!

Despite being almost all head, his mask and cape exude coolness. You got that right, Sakurai! I'm so glad that Meta-Knight has been announced. I think there will be more announcements related to him later on.

Yea I thought I heard that one before... Master Sword? Hey a Zelda cameo in Kirby!! ;D Without his mask he is just another cute kirby! Hes not so tough!

I think it was called the Master power in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror only because it could do everything and anything (light fuses, break all blocks, cut wires, etc.)
Nice to see they didn't even bother using original screenshots for the poor bastard XD

Darn. Needs some Fireworks. I was hopeing for Falcon, but hey, this will do just fine.
I do like the screenshots though. Very nice. Also, as far as why he wasn't shown for a while. They may have just wanted to reveal the new Newcomers. The roster is almost done, so here he is.
Wonder when we'll get the Haberd stage?

Meta's my main choice in this game so far so I don't care if this update had good or bad screens, still fantastic.
The sword's not Galaxia anywhere outside the anime, when Kirby wields Meta's sword in the games it's called Master but it may not even have a name. To be fair, the design in Air Ride and Brawl takes after the anime but yeah.

All I can say is, finally!!! I've really been anticipating this. Meta Knight is my Newcomer of Choice so far (although Wario takes a verrrry close second place) and I can't wait to jump behind his controls ;D
EDIT: You know what? This may very well be a Kirby in-joke. Meta Knight always physically appears later in Kirby games, even if his presence is felt early on. This could be the same thing--and I'm inclined to believe it. XD

Well, since Sakurai didn't want to put Meta Knight or Dedede in Melee because he wanted to promote others people's characters, this may be the same thing.
Or just... joking around.

Wait.... "Heroes always arrive late..."...
...mmmm...... nah, couldn't be.
I like how the screens in this update demonstrate how the characters' eye move around automatically better than ever.

You know that WOULD be kinda wicked if Meta Knight was the one who eventually finishes the Subspace Minister

Sakurai's very modest to the point where I sometimes doubt Dedede.
Kirby and Meta are not enemies, I hate when people say it. Meta hates how lazy Dream Land is and tries to fix it. When he agrees on something with Kirby he'll help out or try himself to stop it. If they disagree Meta will try to get Kirby out of his way. It's not exactly a villian rivalry or friendly rivalry...it's so complicated Sakurai doesn't even get it.

I agree Dasherkoppa. It's best described that meta-Knight "plays by his own rules". He isn't Kirby's foe, but will work with the side that fits him best. He's not like Wario, who could care less about good and evil. He will fight for good, but has a capasity for evil, if he fells the action is truely "good".
