Ah, didn't see that. But still, I doubt there'll be more than one per series, if that even. Gotta make use of all those composers somehow.  It's not like Melee didn't have any, anyway. Balloon Fight and the Mushroom Kingdom and Mushroom Kingdom 2 songs were left as-is, as well as the Hammer theme. |

I hope that the DK Rap is available, and that it is the ORIGINAL DK64 VERSION, because the Melee version was, in my view, a sub-par effort.

The DK64 version is too slow - and to be honest, neither of them are very good  I can think of at least a dozen DK songs I'd much rather hear than that again. *Come oooon Kremkroc Industries music!* |

This is really cool. I wonder how specific the controls will be. I would want to make sure that the music matches the stage. I don't want Mario music while I'm on Pit's stage.

Would it even be possible to play out-of-series songs on a stage? The list for Eldin Bridge doesn't go any higher, and they're all Zelda songs... I doubt the Zelda ones would be at the very top of a full list.

I think it just goes franchise by franchise. So only Zeloda music plays on the Zelda course.

You know, this update is kinda funny because my friend and I were reviewing all the songs last night and joking about how awesome that Ocarina Medley is but how poorly it would match a Twilight Princess stage, or how the K.K. Rider music is kinda... weird for the Smashville stage. This, pretty much, answers our question. AND in a strange timely manner. Hurrah! And Sakurai states that some will be just rips. Now he could just be like "well, you know, the CLASSICS are rips, like Mushroom Kingdom," but I think the songs that have parentheses are the ones that are original. Otherwise, they are remixes. I'm probably wrong, because the parentheses may just be describing the track (i.e. Title can be anything, so they say (from The Legend of Zelda)). But it would be nice if they had the Dark World theme remixed That and I can imagine the songs with parentheses being the originals and working fully in-game, while the others would need an overhaul. btw, who thinks the CDs are an AWESOME idea? Yet another Kirby/Wario reference |

it just occurred to me - after KK Slider plays in Smashville, a CD with that music probably appears so you don't have to wait til next Saturday to hear it again.

Ooh--I really hope that the "Hidden Forest & Mountains" soundtrack has the Lost Woods from LttP. That's my favorite track from that game!
This is an awesome concept. It means that there's so much potential to hear music that otherwise would have been ignored for more standard material. Pokémon FRLG Championship music, please! And Phendrana Drifts, and SMS Boss Music, and Paper Mario-remixed SMB3 Ship stage music and, and, and...

My take on the whole "remixes/rips" thing:
If you look at the screenshots, you notice how some of the songs have the title of the original game next to them in parentheses, while others don't? I'm thinking if the song title mentions the original game, then it's just an unmodified rip of the original tune. However if the title is standalone (ie "Dark World" instead of "Dark World (A Link To The Past)"), then it's an arrangement made just for Brawl. I think that would be freaking awesome.
