So we're on 18 characters, with Captain Falcon and Ness / Lucas (so Lucas) most likely shoe-ins for spots 19 and 20. If we get over that, it'll probably be 24 (every developer loves numbers divisible by 4, for some reason). Will it go that far? I've always had a feeling there would be 24 in the starting roster, but that would be another 6 (or 7, if Shiek is back as a transformation) in a couple of months, which I don't think is gonna happen... but the thought of only 2/3 more characters revealed until release makes me a sad panda.

This post may not do with the starting roster or stuff related to that but does anyone think that this image with the IC freezing Link using their blizzerd attack (down B special move) could be also be evidence of the Freezie item returning?

Not necessarily. The Ice Climbers could freeze people in Melee on their own anyway, it doesn't really indicate much else other than that aspect of the move is returning.

This post may not do with the starting character or anything but does anyone think that this image with the IC freezing Link could be evidence of the Freezie item returning? Why? The IC could freeze opponents at high % with Blizzard and Ice Blocks. The more % the enemy has, better chances.

Yes, I admit that I knew about the freezing under high oppenant % but since those attacks ice chunk model is the same as the Freezie ice chunk model. Is it not possible to image that the Freezie would still be in the game.

I think you could make a case for it, but not 100%.
Also, if we have 24 characters (excluding Sheik) that would make 4 newcomers. Happy panda. I would guess 1 would be a veteran going from hidden to unlocks. Not likely, but possible I think. Of course, I don't think it will be too high over 20.

But we already have 6 newcomers, not including Zero Suit Samus.

Well Fryguy hoped for a surprise and look at that... We got one. This also kills the Dixie and Diddy Team up... Not necessarily. What if Diddy's Final Smash was the Diddy and Dixie Team Up? Dixie's barrel appears and Dixie breaks out to temporarily join Diddy in brawl. That would be cooler than the lame Diddy's Guitar Final Smash. You seem to forget though that the Diddy in Brawl is from DK64...

...No, the Diddy in Brawl is Diddy. There's only one Diddy. He appears in both Donkey Kong Country 2 and Donkey Kong 64. There's no reason he can't have moves from both.

You seem to forget though that the Diddy in Brawl is from DK64... And you seem to forget that the Mario in Brawl is from Super Mario Bros. on the NES! Seriously... that's the worst argument ever!

Not really, as the Link in Brawl is from Twilight Princess specifically, and not from other Zelda games. (Though there really isn't much of a difference between Links.)

Well, in Diddy's case, it's niot true. He's one characters with no difinative style. Fox and Link are from their respectiver game becuase the style is based right off of it.

There have been multiple different people named Link, despite the fact that they all share basically the same personality and tools. But there's only been one Diddy and one Fox (even though Fox's first adventure on the SNES got retold in Star Fox 64).

You seem to forget that Yoshi's special moves are all based on Yoshi's Story and Yoshi's Island yet his Final Smash is based on Super Mario World. Oh, and Mario's standard and up specials are based on Super Mario Bros., his side special is based on Super Mario World, and his down special is based on Super Mario Sunshine. And it may be a stretch but his Final Smash is based on Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (remember Mario's Ultra Flame?)
