Now what's funny is that if you click the icon in the lower right, there's even more characters. In there they have Geno, Paper Mario, Lip, the Diamond Pearl Starters, different Fire Emblem races, and probably another that I missed (edit: Ashley, Pokey, Kumatora, Petey, Zant). What's funny is they remark how unlikely Geno is, because of his copyright issues. Good to know they aren't just blind fans.
Another thing I noticed is that Takamaru is less likely on their scale than Black Shadow. C'MON...

They don't even have anything from the Wars series on there. How depressing. I guess having to miss the first two Advance Wars games didn't do much for its popularity there, huh?

They got them both in the end. No idea how well the double-set did, of course.

Wars never was that popular, even the first Famicom title, which inspired the FE series and the rest of tactical games. In Japan eyes, it was a butchered down Fire Emblem. For the western audiences it worked the opposite, AW tends to be more popular than FE.

Also, like I said, his %s are messed up. Takamru>Black Shadow.

I don't really think Takamaru is 'greater than' Black Shadow in terms of likelihood to get in. I would rather him, but I think Black Shadow could easily slip in as the new heavy Falcon, if clones do return (or even a Luigified heavy Falcon if clones don't return).

"Luigified" or "Luigify" sounds more like "to dress like Luigi, and shoot green fireballs" than "to turn into a semi-clone", in my opinion. I rather say "semi-clone" or "semi-cloned".

Thats what I meant. Black Shadow with a green cap and a flailing run punch.

I doubt Black Shadow's inclusion. If Samurai Goroh didn't get in, I doubt another F-Zero racer all together.
My logic on this one isn't perfect though... so bear with me. It's just that Black Shadow isn't one of the original characters from the first F-Zero, he's never on any cover artwork, and while he may be the bad guy of the F-Zero world... F-Zero isn't really about story anyway. It's about racing. Captain Falcon is a great guy to represent the series as a whole, and he does a good enough job on his own. It's only my personal feelings... please don't respond with "I can't believe how stupid you are" or anything like that. I feel that.... if there were an F-Zero fighting game... Black Shadow would be a no brainer.... but smash brothers is another story.

You know, given the bizarre cast of F-Zero, they'd lend theirselves well to an insane Fighter game. Wouldn't be a bad idea, since Nintendo doesn't have its own standard fighter franchise like everyone else.

Yeah, but F-Zero is also Nintendo's only staple racing franchise, too. Aside from Mario Kart...and I honestly like F-Zero more XD
Besides, Nintendo has Smash Bros. at its disposal :D

Given that I don't know who some of those characters, on the main page are, I am astounded that at least Japanese people have a wanting for K.Rool to appear in Brawl (as I do).
I had the distinct impression that the Japanese weren't appreciative of what Rare did to the DK franchise. Either that, or I read too much into an interview with a certain S. Miyamoto.

You did read too much into it. Miyamoto doesn't like Donkey Kong Country (or Super Donkey Kong) because it was largely style over substance. Frustrating points, flimsy controls, and fairly generic platforming. But the Japanese lapped it up as much as everyone outside of Japan did. Never underestimate the power of CGI!
