It’s a golden hammer. Just like the title says.It appears on a very important looking pedestal. It’s even more powerful than a normal hammer. And it’s even more rare.Swing, swing, swing the hammer! This hammer drops with fearsome force! Not only does it boast increased power, but you also swing it faster.
...And it may have even more effects. If you rapidly tap the button...You can float in midair! What is this?! As far as hooks go, this is pretty odd. It may even be a little hardcore.
By the way... The normal hammer was known to occasionally lose its head...Ever have this misfortune happen to you? This item also occasionally malfunctions...
And it is then apparently called the Golden Squeaky Hammer.Squeaksqueaksqueaksqueak!

Somebody asked for a squeaky hammer, too.
Nice. I like it a lot.

Is this from any Mario game? Cause I don't remember ever seeing it.

Looks like the Ultra Hammer. Or a Party hammer. Bah. Diddy and Wario look badass though.

EVERYBODY STOP!!!
GOLDEN HAMMER TIME!!!
I apolgise, I just had to say that. Looks like a good item especially with the ability to float in mid-air and I also like the fact that it appears on an "important looking" pedestal.

Wow. They're really making some obscure items.
I mean, the superspicy curry, being only from the first Kirby game.... and now the golden hammer from wrecking crew. Though they're both good items... I'm just surprised how obscure they are.

Hooray! Feel the Wrecking Crew love!! For the record, this was a really difficult item to find in the game. You know occasionally you will uncover letters from Mario and Luigi's names behind the stone walls? Well, if you uncover them all (in the right order) then you get the stronger Golden Hammer, which you keep until you lose a life.It didn't let you fly though, or squeak Good stuff. Nice to see a quite obscure, retro item in the game. EDIT That's how you get 1-Ups. You get the Golden Hammer by hitting a specially determined bomb third. And the number of hammer strikes up to that point determines whether you get the Golden Hammer or a doll.

Could the squeaking noise be a reference to Mario Party, in which a couple of the Mini-games required you to hit something (usually another player) with it?? The hammers look pretty similar as well.

We covered this already. Squeaky mallets are just a comedy Japanese thing. Not a reference to Mario Party. They are both references to a cultural phenomenon, and not to each other. Like how the Party Ball in SSBM is not a reference to the Party Balls in Super Monkey Ball.

So that's a Wrecking Crew hammer? Epic win!
Hey, the Golden Hammer from Wrecking Crew had its own theme. Since the DK hammer has it's classic tune in the Smash Bros. games, will that music play when you pick the golden one in Brawl? I really hope so.

I'm really hoping so too. There's kind of a Wrecking Crew resurgence going on with my contacts... seems that it's one of those "forgotten classics" - despite being a Mario game!
