I need to find a Wii... there is nothing in South Florida, nothing in the cities of Miami and Fort Lauderdale... I already preordered Brawl but no Wii. Once I do get my hands on a Wii, the first thing I'm going to do is get Internet on the Wii so I will be able to play Brawl online with you guys and to download VC games.

It doesn't specify the amount of lag. I imagine it will improve over time as well, as the servers become inundated, they will have to up the ante a little Who knows, you MIGHT have no problems at all. I hope thats the case. Then the NinDB will be one big brawl (see what i did there).

I personally find this picture to be very interesting: Okay, so it's perfectly possible that Sakurai flipped a few switches and made it so that whatever characters we haven't seen yet didn't show up in this screenshot. Actually, not just possible, but very likely. But what if he didn't? What if we now know the full starting roster for Brawl? If this is the case, then that tells us a few things: 1. Captain Falcon is a secret character again. 2. Mother Representative X (Ness, Lucas, whoever) is also now unlockable. 3. No AC representative! Unless that's unlockable as well. 4. Notice how Zamus has her own icon despite her not being her own character. So do Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard. Meanwhile, there is no icon for Sheik. New Down-B for Zelda? I personally think that there are still more starters left to be revealed and they were just intentionally omitted for the purposes of this screen. Not only would a complete lack of profiles for the next two and a half months be just weird and unlikely, but I don't really see why they would go and hide Captain Falcon, especially if he's the only playable rep of his franchise once again. Though this as the final starting roster certainly seems possible. 17 starting characters in Brawl certainly seems realistic enough, especially since the 20 we keep bringing up was never an official number. Anyways, this is just a theory I'm toying with. I don't necessarily believe it just yet. I am kind of starting to lean back towards the theory of a lack of playable Sheik, though. Yes, Aunoma said he sent designs of her to Sakurai and the implication seems to be that she will be in Brawl. But that's it. He basically said she'd be in Brawl, but not that she'd be playable in Brawl. I'm thinking we're gonna get a Sheik Assist Trophy, personally.

Guys. That screen. Take a look what's behind it - Profile.
It's likely set up to just append an icon on a profile. The way the list scrolls and is already down a small bit indicated you can choose a Franchise Logo, a Character Portrait, or a Mii. It's likely setup based on what characters are unlocked so far. Sakurai probably just was making sure no characters were accidentally revealed.

Thores - You summed up some of my thoughts on that screen (which I was planning to tackle after work if no one brought it up). I'm thinking that Sakurai had hidden the fighters he hasn't revealed yet...but I guess we'll see.

Hey hey hey hey. I just realized...this update basically confirms that NinDB Brawl Tourney we discussed a couple weeks ago. ;D Fucking sweeeeet. I live on east coast USA, so it looks like I'll have the fastest connections with Flip, Parrot and Smashchu. But I still look forward to playing with my NinDB pals across the globe. Also: Why is downloadable content such a big deal? To me, that sounds like a bad idea... and won't be fair to people who bought the game but don't have an internet connection. All the game's content should be on the disk itself. The only thing I'd settle for are downloadable trophies or other collectables. It means that, even after the game's production has ended due to time constraints, there can still be more content to come out following this. It's great for lengthening the lifespan of the game; in SSB64 and SSBM, once you unlocked all the characters and stages, that was it--there wasn't much new for you to enjoy.

Why am I always 3 pages late when posting responds to Dojo updates? And this may or may not confirm that Home Run Contest is returning. I have to admit, it was quite a challenge! When I first saw Sandbag, I thought thet would use it as a practice target in the next SSB. What a prediction! ;D Waitholdonasecond! You can talk to your friends while playing? That's so cool! ;D

Waitholdonasecond! You can talk to your friends while playing? That's so cool! ;D Not quite... It clearly says the messages are entered before battle, so you can use them as taunts while fighting. I doubt you'll be able to do much real communication with only 4 different short messages. (Although it's still a dang cool feature)

I'd imagine it would still be fast enough with people across the pond, at least for East Coasters. I had no issue trading with UKers, for example, in Pokemon.
Likewise, the same goes for West Coast and Japan. They're pretty damn close.
But maybe I'm just insane. It all really depends on your individual Wi-Fi connection.
