I guess that his revelation its due to the Tokio game show, and the fact that konami people have been showing him of.
So now we have the 2 character grids complete, does that have a meaning at all? I just doubt we are getting 8 more starting characters, that leads me to the following explanations:
A) The grid doesn't mean anything.
B) or this is the starting roster
C) secret character will be seen on the dojo before the game release.
D)or Snake its an starting character
Now even if snake its unlock able, I can see why Nintendo has been showing him of, a third party character is a huge deal, and that's the reason of why I doubt Sonic would be in Brawl, if he were, Sega would be screaming it at the top of their lungs (just like Konami)

Sega can be silent about a crossover with Sonic... After all, there's that upcoming game with Nintendo. So... is he a starting character? I'm confused... Like you said once, this type of characters needs to be shown somehow to sell the game. And that way is the DOJO!! site if he doesn't become a starter. |

I figured if a character was unlockable the main site would explain how to unlock him/her in the introduction profile. I think they did that with melee aswell? Unless ofcourse they use another 4th character update to reveal this information.

Who knows at this point. I'm for either at this point.
Of course it wouldn't affect the roster much if he was hidden or not. It seems the roster (for pretty much all games) is divisable by 2, 3 or 5. 20 is divisable by 5/2 and 21 by 3, so it would work out either way.
Now where's my Metroid course.

If Sakurai's only showing us starters, then Snake's one of them. Makes sense because he's so popular. Otherwise, than we'll get the entire roster by December.
Anyways, cool update! We finally get some new pics of Snake! ;D

Again, nowhere did Sakurai say he was updating until launch. It's likely, but not confirmed. I still suspect updates will end say... November 1st. That way he can leave a lot of stuff still unanswered before the Japanese release on the 22nd.

This website builds hype for the game, even when a crap update comes up. The last thing Nintendo wants to do is draw hype away from it. A thought occurs - what if Snake and a couple more 3rd party characters are starters, allowing them to be promoted, and then there were other characters from their companies or even a secondary character from their series as unlockable. I know some of you would hate this, because thats even more 3rd party characters, but I'd like it. |
