There's a few things that just seem off about the picture--the texture of the trim on his robe, his eyes, and the fact that his body is too small...but I'm curious to hear what y'all are thinking.

It's pretty well done but not perfect. It obvously borrows Kirby's hammer and the fluffyness of the IC parka's. But like TEi said something's off on it.

It's definately well done.... I see where they were going with it... but wouldn't Sakurai choose to go with the most recent design for DeDeDe? Taller, fatter, and more evil looking, with a much darker shade of blue. But that does resemble Dedede's old design from Kirby's Dreamland. That most recent design you're talking about is the design from the anime. The games are still using the short, big-head, light blue Dedede.
A lot of other anime elements seem to have snuck into Squeak Squad, like the design of Castle Dedede and the monster machine in the throne room... but Dedede's design is still the same as it's always been.

Hmmm... King Dedede looks nice but not awesome like I thought he'd be in 3D. Maybe Sakurai will do better than all these fanart.

It looks too cute for an SSB fighter. Kirby and Pikachu don't apply as examples to prove me wrong, because you can't really add scary AND logical detail to them in a way that they could with Dedede.

In my defense, I wasn't posting it as art, I was posting it because there was the chance it could have been genuine. It just got disproved really quickly, unlike pretty much everything else here. |
