While playing the game, you might encounter an interesting situation. At times like this, you must PAUSE!Stop the action and look at the scene from all different directions. If that pause in the action makes for an interesting shot that you wish you could keep, then by all means, do so. Take a SNAAAAAAAPSHOT!If you’re on the pause screen, you can snap a photo anytime!Like this.Take funny snapshots...As often as you like! You can take snapshots like the images we’ve shown here on Smash Bros. Dojo.
We had a snapshot mode in the past, but you couldn’t take a snapshot anytime in the middle of a match. And they were saved to a GameCube Memory Card—it wasn’t like you could save several dozens of photos.
However! This time there are SD cards! With those, you’ll have room to save plenty of snapshots!Just give it a name and save it to either location. But wait! There’s more!"Send"This feature allows you to send your snapshots to people you’ve registered as Friends for Nintendo WFC play. So you can give them funny little screenshots as presents. You can view them in the Album.
Don’t you think you’d be happy to suddenly get a funny photo from a friend? Perhaps online brawling isn’t the only way to compete.
Uh, as for that thing that’s blurred out, that’s still a secret. We’re still in development, so I apologise in advance if it gets dropped, but we are thinking of one more trick for this mode.

THIS LOOKS LIKE FUN! Though I wonder what the blured out thing is.

Yes! I was hoping for a feature like this! It also explains the absence of Camera Mode in the Special Brawl update. Not the most exciting Friday update, but totally understandable given the megatons we've already received this week.

I'm hoping we could save them as jpgs!

Good update. It's nice to have a conframation of this mode for us and it being online as well.
Maybe that blurred out part does something with the photo channel.

This was heavily requested, glad they implanted it.

The best part is you can pause, mid game. The problem with camera was you had to set up shots. Not anymore. So for that, it wins.

They read my mind again. Guess now I don't have to be disappointed when it comes time to unpause the game during a really funny incident.

Look how much space is left on that Wii! Wonder if it's filled up with pure Brawl stuff...
Anyways, I never experienced an awesome picture moment...hopefully I will...

If you can put it on a SD card then you already can add it to Photo Channel.
My guess is it's some Smash unique edit mode, where you can use stickers. But that seems really, really simple to implement...
Hmm... Maybe some sort of slideshow app so you can make small movies?

I never liked using the Camera mode in Melee, because it was too fiddly (especially if I haven't got anyone to assist me), so I'm greatful for this update.
If you could export them into the Photo Channel and draw all kinds of things on them (funny mustaches for example), that'd be cool.
Now if there was only a way to print pictures using the Wii...

Well, this solves a lot of issues I had with camera-related stuff in Melee! Camera Mode was always kind of gimped out there, and having only three players in a match reduced the chaos (and thus, potential for humorous shots). Also, I had the best moment in Adventure Mode that I didn't have a camera to take the picture with...Luigi on the platform where you fight Yoshi Team, right? I picked up the Bunny Hood and Star Rod during the match and had them when it ended. For shits and giggles I make him do his flailing run punch, and I pause the game; Luigi is doing the punch and looking all winded from it, and Toad is in the background all "8O!!!!" It was brilliant. Though I wonder what the blured out thing is. It's a penis.

Hmm... Maybe some sort of slideshow app so you can make small movies? That would be even easier to implement than an edit mode. I think the edit mode is more likely. Using stickers, drawing tools, and probably a lot of Mario Paint references.
