StarFox 64 is my favorite. I voted for StarFox 64. Mostly because it was funny listening to the StarFox team talk to you.

Perhaps you should also have included the unreleased-but-still-downloadable-as-a-rom StarFox 2? Anyway, the only StarFox game I've played is StarFox Adventures...

StarFox Adventures is a pretty misguided attempt to make a thirdperson adventure out of an airborne shooter. And it unleashed Tricky onto the world... he's Nintendo's Jar Jar.
StarFox Assault is a mixture of the two styles. I personally think it's very good, if a little short.

Lylatwars (SF64) is my fave although having to keep on rescuing Slippy every 5 seconds does become irritating.
Anyway, does anyone know why was SF64 called Lylatwars in Europe?

Because the term "StarFox" has been registered already. This results in the names "StarWings" and "Lylat Wars" are used in Europe for StarFox (SNES) and StarFox 64.

It was for a crappy Atari game... I did a bunch of research, but I seem to have lost it somewhere along the line... I don't remember the developer's name at all.
However, yes, it was for a budget Atari game called Star Fox in the US and something else in Europe. Despite this, the Star Fox name had only been copyrighted by the company in Europe (for some reason), so Nintendo had to work around the copyright.
So we got Star Wing and Lylat Wars.
StarFox Adventures seemed to go through a few name changes in Europe before it came out, so it's plausible that Nintendo bought the name off the original company at the last moment.
