I like this update. I can finally build a Duck Hunt stage and a Meowth's Party stage and maybe Pencilvania, the Balloon Kid stage. I wonder if you can alter the terrain instead of just having boring blocks for platforms. And what about the backgrounds? Can we choose the background from a library of backgrounds based off past Nintendo games?

Judging by those pictures on the Dojo I think the background is limited to just 3: landscape view, cave and hi-tech. Seems like you can select a few different objects for different backgrounds (Landscape has trees and cave has pillars etc), but nothing too spectecular. Don't expect to get the ability to add water or hazards other then spikes either.
It's simple, kinda like Timesplitters' map maker: you can make decent maps, but don't expect to remake the Facility or something.

My idea for a stage: two giant vertical walls, so the players are fighting in a free-fall towards the short bottom within a narrow vertical cavity. Their saving grace? And I know how to as well! Only Timesplitter I have is the second one and it's map maker is pretty garbage. I made about 2/3 of something resembling the Facility and the data was already full. Didn't even throw guns in it yet. Really, the Stage Builder is a nice bonus feature, but I wouldn't expect too much of it.
