As much as we all love these babies, discussion on them doesn't seem to come up as much in most places. So I figured I'd bring it on here. But anyway, what other kinds of trophies would you guys like to see in Brawl? (Ah, just name a few.) And how many do you think that there will be this time around? I'd say about 500-600 (of course you can do it, Sakurai). Constructing a trophy listIf you are one with a lot of time on your hands (like me), then you'd definitely find yourself doing this on occasion. Most of the time, I blow my mind doing it, getting flushed in the dilemma of deciding which kinds of things to put in there. I mean, there are way too many Mario and Zelda bosses and enemies and items and stuff. What to do, what to do? Aside from all the rather obvious ones, just pick from favorites is all. I have other obscure favorites as well (Prince Peasley from M&LSS, Pauline from the original Donkey Kong and Mario vs DK 2, Rosalina from Mario Galaxy...) With so many things from such series, don't overdo it! That's like having trophies of all 493 Pokémon. And even from Pokémon, you should be drawing from your personal favorites and (obviously) the most notable ones anyways (i.e. starters, legendaries). And now, that brings us to the question: Aside from appearing in Smash, what else is it that makes a character or item or whatever worthy of being a trophy in this game? I would say, it would have to be a recurring element in its respective series, has a lot of impact on it as a whole, and is also the most memorable amongst most fans. ...Oh, I almost forgot. What kinds of sceneries would you like to see in that "Diorama Mode", where you place them around to make a scene? We've seen a stadium of some kind in the Nintendo Fall Conference video (with Xananab the banana alien) and...boxes, rooftops, platforms ( ) in one screenshot (with Tingle in the foreground).

In Pokemon's case, good trophies would include Treeko, Mudkip, Torchic, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Dialga, Palkia, and of course, Lucario. Maybe throw in Azelf etc.
Then the Sonic and Metal Gear universe would also be represented with various trophies.
I'm guessing 400 trophies (at least).

You mean like the Majora's Mask giants? Or the Zero-One? Or Eggplant Man? Or Ooccoo? I think the requirement is... Sakurai puts in whatever he wants. It's completely random, which is good. We get a good mix. But, uh... are you encouraging people to make long lists of random things they want to be trophies? do not want. There's a reason people don't speculate on trophies, y'know. It's impossible.

You mean like the Majora's Mask giants? Or the Zero-One? Or Eggplant Man? Or Ooccoo? Hey, the giants played a big part in Majora's Mask, which had a level in Melee. Pokemon Snap was an awesome game, it was in Blockbuster's all over America where you could print out your pictures. Eggplant Man was a major (kinda) enemy in Ice Climbers, and Ooccoo played a big part in Twilight Princess. Sakurai picks trophies that are significant to their respected series, then he'll throw in random ones like Donbe & Hikari, Ayume Tachibana, Alpha, and Heririn.

Eggplant Man wasn't in Ice Climbers. I think you mean Wrecking Crew. And yes, those things were important to the single game they were in, but are pretty much forgotten amongst fans. Which means, of the three criteria: Well... they all meet none of those requirements. That's the point I was trying to make.

Guess we'll have to wait for the game and see what trophies it has, no?
But you know, DKVine seems to be making their own trophy list out of their so-called "DKU" (to a degree): their neon light heads on their banner on the top of each page.
Just refresh their page as much as possible and keep an eye on that banner. Man, it just goes on and on.
One time, I got Crazy Hand on the left and Master Hand on the right. Creepy...

Well, discussing trophies is a matter of discussing patterns from Melee and also characters/items/stages that are really, really major.
Most of the non-human, non-object Pokémon trophies in Melee were those of the Poké Ball Pokémon, playable Pokémon, or Poké Floats Pokémon. With exceptions like Bulbasaur and Eevee, the latter of which is one of the most peculiar species. Following that pattern, I'd assume we could get Kecleon, Castform, and Porygon-Z as both Poké Ball Pokémon and trophies (besides the new legendaries), but that's just an "assumption".
I'd "assume" we'll get a Pianta or Noki trophy, because Piantas and Nokis are new races introduced in Super Mario Sunshine that appeared in later games.
From TLoZ, we can assume we'll get trophies of the Twilight Princess protagonists, namely major characters such as Zant and Midna. Stuff from other chapters of the game series will appear, too, as proven by that look of Tingle.
Kid Icarus should get Palutena, as she isn't playable but appears in Pit's Final Smash.
Well, that kind of assumptions are the ones that can be made IMO.
Oh, and I guess Assist Trophies are Trophies? Don't say it's "obvious" ^_^. It's just "logical".

I want to see unplayable retro figures in 3d instead of just stickers. It happened in Melee with a bunch so here's hoping for Urban Champion guys in GLORIOUS 3D!
Not sarcastic, I love those green and blue brawlers.

The best trophies were the ones that represented old and obscure characters who didn't appear in the game, which is why I was surprised so many characters got passed over. I really hope not a single game hero is ignored this time, no matter how obscure.

This time however, it probably wont be a problem, especially with some as AT.

For Metal Gear, I hope for Liquid Snake, Gray Fox, and Raiden trophies.... maybe like one for the FOXHOUND unit in the first Solid. Of course, an AT for Metal Gear is going to be a trophy too..
Sonic I hope for Knuckles, Tails, and...well Amy and Robotnik. That's all we need there.

We need a Big Boss trophy, too. He's been a major character in every game, including the ones in which he's dead. Sonic I hope for Knuckles, Tails, and...well Amy and Robotnik. That's all we need there. As much as people will hate me for saying this, I think we need a Shadow one, too. The Shadow arc ended fairly recently to make way for the new future/alternate reality arc, but he still dominated the plot for five years and is hugely important to the series.
