As far as Parasect goes... he's a lot cooler looking than Weedle, other than that... lame.

+dreadfully low defense stats + 4x weakness to flying and fire... Actually, both my Parasect and Beedrill are at level 25, and my Parasect has a defence of 53, whilst my Beedrill has a defence of only 37.

Parasect has a base defense stat of 80, Beedrill has 40. So Parasect isn't too bad, just average. But it's HP isn't very good(Just slightly worse than Beedrills) and it's type is horrible. But it does have one of the best attacks in the game. I think before R/S/E it was the only Pokemon that knew Spore.(Other than Smeargle)

Beedrill is good, it was the only bug Pokemon who has a real advantage over Psychics at r/b/y (most other bugs hardly know any bug attack that acually attacks)> I know Bug always mashes up Psychic and Dark

Parasect is really sweet looking, but utterly useless in RSE, which aggravates me to no end. Only a handful of RBY and about five or so GSC Pokemon actually benefitted from RSE. The games became far too standardized when it comes to competitive battling in the Advanced Gen. Every team has its own Skarm or Blissey or Gengar or Metagross. It ticks me off to no end. Out of the four of us who regularly battle at school, one rents Pokemon from the other three, I use all my favorites, and the other two use the standards (Metagross/Gengar/Miltank/Starmie/Gyarados/Skarmory and Zangoose/Scizor/Venusaur/Charizard/Metagross/Groudon). I can barely take the Miltank/Skarm or Groudon/Charizard combos, but they had to make it worse. And what sucks even more is the first guy rolls with laughter whenever he wins and really rubs it in your face, but he throws a fit like a baby when he loses.
Some people are TOO into the game, no?

It's been a long time since I had a proper battle... and that was with the original RBY teamset. My favourites list hasn't quite caught up with the movements in RSE battling. But the whole idea of RSE was to make you focus on the new Pokemon than rely on your old favourites. I know now, thanks to the wonders of Colosseum, that any team I created would include a Rain Dancing Ludicolo I'm going to start a new thread for Pokemon in the Contemporary Nintendo folder... and there we can discuss strategies, cool Pokemon to use, etc. I'm interested in getting together an awesome Doubles Battle team, or at least creating one theoretically. Let us migrate.
