"Donkey Kong" (0:54) Click here to listen. Composition Supervisor: Yukio Kaneoka Arrangement Supervisor: Hirokazu Tanaka. Ex• The copyright for this music is held by Nintendo. • Check your volume settings. He is the mainstay who has built Nintendo sound since the days of Game & Watch: Hirokazu Tanaka.
He wasn’t included on the list of musicians until now, but he secretly joined the fray!
And then there’s this arrangement of the original Donkey Kong theme. It has gone in the direction of the unexpected, becoming completely different from the work of the other musicians.
You’ve got to hear it!

Sounds okay, nothing great but not too bad.

I've never even heard a Donkey Kong remix before.

Wow, this is the guy who composed Metroid and Dr. Mario waaaaaaay back in the day. Neat!
This arrangement, though... kinda weird. Not really something I'd fight to.
EDIT: Here's a list of the franchises currently covered on the Dojo that don't have a music update yet:
-Mario (oddly enough) -Earthbound -Sonic -Ice Climbers -F-Zero -Nintendo DS

It really was an unexpected arrangement but it's not bad. Anyone got the original Donkey Kong theme to compare to?

You're all weird. This remix is fucking AWESOME.
Now we just need music for Sonic, Mario, Mother and Ice Climbers...

This remix is awesome. It's so weird and 80-ish.

Personally, I think this isn't a very good music update. I prefer the DK music from DKC onwards rather than the arcade music.

This update is awesome on two levels. First of all... it's a good song. Second of all... HIROKAZU "HIP" TANAKA!! I had noticed his name wasn't in the list, and that made me a sad panda. Yet here he is - second to Koji Kondo for music-of-my-youth.

^ Hirokazu Tanaka has been added to "the musicians" update. It says the games he has worked on are Metroid and Dr Mario.

Woo! It's Hippie!
Unfortunately the snippet of this song we know about is very mellow, so I'm hoping it picks up to be more action-packed after the fade-out. But it IS cool that we get some Arcade DK loving!

I guess this music increases chances for Classic DK stage. Seriously can you think of any other place where that music would fit? It's a nice tune by the way.
