Yay! I loved this mode in Melee. Glad to see it back.

It seems to me there would be more than 4 on each page. Good to see the mode return. I wonder why 2 was skipped over... could it have something (someone?) we haven't seen yet? Thats 3 game modes this week. Crazy. There are probably more, when you unlock characters? And maybe some characters will be unlockable in this mode, like in SSBM.

The second event looks like Lylat Cruise and has a patch of blue something. It's weird. I'll zoom in again, but a part of me wants to go all "Krystal!" on it despite knowing better.
And I'm sure there's more than 44. There were 51 in the last game, and it's not like you can't scroll to a new screen that's only got two events on it or something.

Cool update, though I too am curious about the second event... It's got Star Fox's FS in the picture. Maybe it's a bounty hunter event? C Falcon...? Smashchu's rule" All Brawl speculation will involve Capt. Falcon in some way.

It looks like there is 44 event matchs. Count the squares on the top and x it by four on each page. *facepalms* There were 51 Events in Melee. That's not neat or divisible by anything--it's a prime number! The number of squares and number of pictured events means absolutely dick. You people and your grids...
Anyway, great to see this mode make a return. I hope there'll be some legendary stuff in here like in Melee's.

Why do I get the feeling that you will have to fight Snake on a plane in one of these?
*cookies if you get the reference, although it's obvious*

It isn't An element that was present only in Event Mode was the Trophy Tussle stages. I'd like to fight on a Wiggler.

This update kinda saddens me because of the stages they're fighting on. Dark Link v. Link on the Bridge of Eldin? That tells me that Bridge of Eldin might be the only Zelda level in the game.

Yeah, I was worrying the same thing. It's unlikely, given that there are 3 Mario characters with 2 known stages and that Melee had multiple per franchise. BUT, who knows *shrug*

I seriously reckon we're going to get one stage for each character/series at first, then some will have secondary unlockables... PLUS we will get loads of the Melee stages.
It's not what I want, but I can see it happening.

I'd rather we get a bunch of stages that are based on, but not exact replicas of the Melee and SSB64 stages. That's what they did from SSB to Melee, with each of the original eight stages being split into two, and having new stages added for the characters who didn't have them yet.
Examples:
Peach's Castle -> Peach's Castle and Rainbow Cruise Kongo Jungle -> Kongo Jungle and Jungle Japes Hyrule Castle -> Hyrule Temple and Great Bay Yoshi's Story -> Yoshi's Story and Yoshi's Island (this one was pretty new actually) Dream Land -> Green Greens and Fountain of Dreams (same here) Sector Z -> Corneria and Venom
You get the idea. So far, all the stages in Brawl seem entirely new save for the switching around of elements present in Melee's stages, like Rumble Falls being the new Icicle Mountain, or Mario Circuit being the new Mute City or even New Pork City being the new Hyrule Temple. I think we'll get at least two or three stages per franchise. That leaves enough room for another unique stage and a stage that brings back elements from the Melee and SSB64 stages. I'd prefer it if the Past Stages thing wasn't used.

We'll definitely get more stages than Melee had. I said it in another topic, but every franchise should have at least two stages, and then the number increases from there depending both on how many characters are in each franchise and how popular the franchise is.
...I just got a brilliant stage idea for a Wii Stage. This area would be a left-to-right-to-left scrolling stage that takes place in your own Wii Menu. So depending on how you have the channels arranged, it could be either really easy or really tricky to score a kill.
I'd also like to see more Retro stages--like the Mushroom Kingdom and Subcon ones. I'd like to see at least one stage based on the premier game of a series per franchise (and this could also be the "second" stage for each franchise I mentioned in the first paragraph, I'm not expecting THAT many stages), meaning we'd get a super-low-poly 3D Star Fox stage, a sand-and-black-themed Kitchen Island stage, and strange, non-isometric Hyrule and Kanto stages.

Very, very glad to see this back! It was my favorite one-player mode in Melee. I'm hoping there will be more than 51 this time...
While we're on the subject of stages, I'm with Roberto; we really don't need past stages. A roster entirely made of new, original stages, many with recycled elements from past stages, is just fine. Also, we have the Stage Builder...
