It’s the return of Events! This is a single-player mode in which you battle through predetermined situations. This is the Events selection screen.Oh! The pictures make it easy to understand. And it has different difficulty settings! For these, a harder setting is probably more exciting, but you can go ahead and set it however you like.
For example, you’ll find these kinds of situations:Two Trouble KingsCharacter: MarioBowser and King Dedede battle as a team! And Mario stands alone against them.Pink Ball RepulsionCharacter: Meta KnightKirby must not be allowed on the Battleship Halberd! Blast Kirby off before the platform lands on the Halberd!Cleaning House in SkyworldCharacter: PitDestroy all the terrain in Skyworld! Wario both gets in the way and helps out?Sleeping in the EggsCharacter: YoshiUsing Yoshi’s Egg Lay standard special move, put both enemies inside eggs simultaneously!Dark Link DuelCharacter: LinkIt’s a fated battle with your own shadow. This is a stamina based match.High scores are recorded for each challenge at each difficulty level. You don’t just clear these challenges—competing for time will magnify the fun.
Enjoy Smash’s chance meetings between a variety of characters!

Yay! Event match is back!
It's nice to see that they came up with new events and ones that are like new versions of the past ones, like "Two Trouble Kings" and "Dark Link Duel" looks to be a lot more fun than the original one.
The difficult setting is a good function added to it as well.

I like the nod towards Melee's first event match.

Very nice. I am sure the All-Star Matches are back, you know the ones where you fight four to six characters in a row? Hope there's a Pokemon Match event where you play as the Pokemon Trainer and you must defeat the other Pokemon Trainer in a Pokemon match. And I am 100% sure there will be a Mario vs. Sonic event. It could even take place on Pokemon Stadium 2, as a reference to the Olympics game.

It seems that DDD and MK are starting characters, since their appear in Events 1 and 2.

I like the idea of having events based on stamina rather than just stock and time matches. I also like the idea of difficulty settings.
Good work sakurai.

Awesome. I've been waiting for this update for a while. I was hoping the new model for Adventure Mode wasn't replacing it ;D

It looks like there is 44 event matchs. Count the squares on the top and x it by four on each page. It seems to me there would be more than 4 on each page. Good to see the mode return. I wonder why 2 was skipped over... could it have something (someone?) we haven't seen yet? Thats 3 game modes this week. Crazy.

Cool update, though I too am curious about the second event... It's got Star Fox's FS in the picture. Maybe it's a bounty hunter event? C Falcon...?

All I can say is thank good they have different difficulty settings this time. There are Event Matches that I still can't beat. Hopefully, I'll be able to get through them all this time.
