I need help on explaination of the followings.
Publisher (I assume that a publisher does the marketing and packaging, is it?)
Producer (Does a producer do anything in the game?)
Mapper (In Krby Super Star it shows an icon of Kirby building something... is it what a mapper does? What does a mapper build?)
Director (Is it same as advisor?)

Not sure if I'm correct about all this, but...
Publisher Yeah, the publisher does the marketing, packaging, and makes sure the game ends up in stores.
Producer Not sure, but I'm guessing this is the person who came up with the game.
Mapper A mapper is someone who maps, so that must mean this is the person who builds all of the levels.
Director No idea about on one.
EDIT: Also YL, it seems the link to your avatar is broken... that, or FireFox is just acting weird.

A publisher doesn't just market the game - most of the time they fund the game's development. This is why so many developers suck up to the big publishers... and why so many original game ideas are spoiled - because most publishers are out to make money, not make great games.
Producers are like managers... that is they manage the game and the staff working on it to hit targets. They often have to be involved in all aspects of a game's production, from programming to design to liaising with publishers. But a director isn't necessarily very hands on.
Being a director is a tough one - in some cases it's like the movie industry, where they are literally working on directing a game... Others are more like the business directors... in charge of the company itself rather than its products. Obviously, depending on the size of the company, involvement can vary.
A mapper simply sounds like a level designer, but it may also refer to "texture mapping" of polygons, or some kind of bizarre computer code lingo I'm not familiar with...

Thanks, folks, and I deleted my avatar on my Photobucket account. I'll change it soon. EDIT: No, FireFox can't be weird. Acting weird and crashing are trademarks of IE.

If Nintendo hired YOU to work on any game series, what would your job be, and what game would you be working on? I'd work on mapping for the DKC games.

I don't know who would be interested, but last month I went to Nintendo of America and looked at job listings. Retro Studios was looking for a lot of conceptual artists. I don't know if they still are, but someone might want to check it out.

ROM hacking? Honestly, I tried them too. Nintendo's levels are way too easy to be beaten, so I hope they'll make games w/ level editors! (However, most games with level editors, like Polarium, is too hard itself.) If I'm hired by Nintendo - I assume that is its Kyoto center, then I'll... (1) Go to IntSys instead * (2) Work for RD1, specifically for WarioWare games (3) Work for the hardwares so that I could know what's the hardware looking like, and taunt you by not leaking it out * IntSys is located in Nintendo's main premise.

I change my mind. I'd work on the boss fights for the Zelda games!
