Would this idea make Brawl the best game in history, even though it nearly is without it even being out yet. Kirby...sucking Assist Tropies. What do you think? This guy on Nsider2 had the idea: nsider2.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69356 + =

...What? I don't even understand what you're saying. And I have to log in to see your link, which I don't intend to do.

Kirby swallows (heh heh heh) Assist Trophies and steals their power is what I gathered. Not that hard to understand.
But its not particularly necessary, and seems like a waste of development time. If they are going to do any 'secret' Kirby powers, let Dedede's Waddle Doo give you Beam. Thats all we really need.

YOU STOLZ ME IDEA!!!!!!!!!
It's a good idea though, but I don't think it will make it in.
Why is that?
Well, they havnt given Kirby any special move updates yet. Mario and Link had updates because there moves were changed. And if he could copy ATs that would be good enough to give him a special moves update. So no update = no AT copying.

I guess this would mean he'd gain sword powers by sucking pretty much every AT

I'll bet the reason they haven't shown Kirby's special moves is because they're the same as Melee's.
Anyway, the idea of Kirby being able to use AT powers sounds cheap to me.

KSS made all the abilities awesome! ;D Pretty much. But, it would make Kirby over powered. By eating the Assist Trophies, he holds a monopoly over them. He can get their power and basically make himself an Assist.

One important fact that we know about assist trophies...
They are invincible.
This means that you can't attack them. Kirby's inhale is still considered an attack... basically what I'm saying is, if Kirby and Kirby alone was able to attack assist trophies, that would make Kirby the only character in the game who could be immune to them.
As cool as the idea is, it's not fair.
The next thing you need to consider is, what would some assist trophies grant Kirby? What if he inhaled Mr. Resseti? Or the Devil? Would he have the power to move the stage itself? If Kirby was involved in any match, all players would want to turn assist trophies off (and I don't mean just the tournyfags.)
I'd say it's a bad idea.

I figured the only thing outside of fighters he could swallow and get an ability from was Waddle Doo, because it's a nice cameo and Sakurai's favorite ability is Beam. Otherwise, the only thing Kirby can do with Assists, in my mind, is swallow and spit them out a la enemies in Adventure mode. I mean, the videos show character kicking the crap out of some Assists. It makes sense that he could at least turn them into stars. But Kirby swallowing stuff like Metroids and Lakitu and getting powers? Kind of awkward.

TVeye is trumpin' up a storm.
I think Rygar meant most. A few can be defeated, but not many.

The idea is good but it would unbalance the game.
An idea I had for Kirby's copy ablity was that he could copy any one out of the 4 special moves another character has. Have for example Kirby sucks in Link and gains his Gale Boomerang move (instead of his bow and arrow) or suck in Mario and get to use FLUDD (instead of his fireball's).
The only problem I see with this idea is that it makes the game unbalanced.

Plus, how would you decide which one he gets? Would it be random? Better yet, how would you map an Up, Down or Side B move to just Standard B (Kirby's Copy)?
