Update #187: Subspace Emissary Movie

We created a movie introducing one of the game’s modes—Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary.

Hm. This week wasn't bad. It definitely didn't feel like a filler week, but at the same time I wish that the Friday update was more than a glorified recap of past Subspace Emissary videos (although yes, there's definitely loads of new content in the video as well). I would have felt better if it gave us a glimpse of at least one new boss or something, you know?

EDIT: Meta Knight and Ice Climbers team, though? Didn't see that one coming!

I did a nice little scan, but my friend's being a bastard about helping him with his game so I'll be back when I can with my findings.

Basically Yoshi and Link confirmed, Pikachu and Lucas semi-confirmed. More later!

EDIT:

SO, a few things:

-Meta Knight and Ice Climbers team up, fight on a large Icicle Mountain stage
-Yoshi and Link team up. Link begins in a fiery dungeon, but fights with Yoshi in a watery cave.
-Peach ends up in Skyworld someway somehow. Backtracking with new characters?
-Samus is seen in an area with ruins.
-Pikachu is seen on New Pork City.
-Lucas uses his bat to fight off "evil Pokeballs" (forget the real name): Lucas and Pikachu team up? Ness definitely deconfirmed now.
-Bowser utilizes the same gun as Wario, laugh is twisted
-Primids are seen preparing for war, all equipped with cloneish skills (a few have green versions of Zamus's whip, one uses Mario's Dash A, another has Dedede's hammer)
-Ike fights in a Fire Emblem-esque area (a bridge), with fallen ruins behind him. Next scene shows a door like the DK video inside a FE style throneroom.
-Rayquaza definitely a boss: shown in montage with other bosses.
-Diddy is shown watching the Primid "ooze" form in the jungle, FYI
-Bowser confronts Fox and Diddy at some point, not just DK and Diddy--does DK become a trophy like the captured princess? *thinks we'll see Dark Peach/Zelda and Dark DK as bosses later on*
-We see what happens when Peach is left behind and Zelda leaves with Kirby (pretty much the same )
-Vehicles confirmed. Link rides a tank that fires lasers at STICK FIGURES. wtf?

And that's all folks. The only characters not yet paired up are:
Ike, Sonic, Dedede, Snake, Samus, Pokemon Trainer, and, despite being villains, Bowser and Wario.

My money's on.... Pokemon Trainer and Dedede (like I originally guessed ;p), Samus and Snake, Sonic and Ike, Bowser and Wario. But a part of me also wants Snake and Sonic to be uninvolved as starting party members, y'know?

Bowser is shooting that trophy-izing gun at Fox and Diddy, so he probably gets DK.

It was a pretty nice video, not much of the footage was from those E for All trailers so that made me happy.

It looked like Lucas swung Ness's bat in that video, but it could just be him holding the Home Run Bat item.

Ike confirmed in the video as well and those "Roader" enemies look to only be the size of a R.O.B.

Hehe, I like how do the R.O.B. hover. Maybe they wouldn't be good playable characters in that shape, but it's really nice to have them in the game.

What are Meta Knight and the Ice Climbers fighting in that scene? I see human shapes or something.

Dude, Sonic's going to intersect Mario & Pit's part somehow, as seen in the Sonic video. I got a feeling that Subspace Emissary is going to shift the characters through the plotline using the Trophizers of Bowser and Wario, until there are two fighters (who've YOU chosen through your actions) who end up fighting the Ancient Minister.

On the point about the tank, it looks more like a mine cart (it's on a rail track) and those stick figures appeared in one of the E for All trailers.

The pokeball like enemies are called Bytan.



The background of this image is the same place where Lucas fights them.


EDIT: I don't think the Primids prepring for battle are using the characters weapons it looks more like they are swing green Beamswords and some are firing guns but I don't see Dedede's hammer.

It doesn't look like Pikachu is on NPC as well.

So if you put 2 and 2 together you get 87? How does this mean Ness is deconfirmed? (though he is for sure anyway )

Speaking of Lucas. I have a thought how they'd possibly do to add Claus in.
1: A recolour of Lucas.
2: A recolour of Lucas which resembles his "Masked Man" shape.
