I pre-ordered at Game Stop and they said I can pick it up February 7th at midnight. So if you're debating between pre-ordering or not (as I was), perhaps three days of Brawl before the non pre-orderers will sway you. ;D

I'd say they fouled up and gave the wrong day.

That is possible, but we did specifically ask them. I wanted to know if they'd be open at midnight on the 10th, and they said "No, but you can get it on the 7th at midnight."

I preordered my copy online...so I'm pretty much guaranteed to get it after everyone else. :/

February 7th, you say? The GameStops here at home might do that, but in Vermont everything takes forever >.> It's not much later, but it was enough to annoy. I wasn't guaranteed Galaxy unless I pre-ordered, and I still got it two days after release when they had it set to arrive a week early.

I pre-ordered Brawl back in August... The Pokemon Trainer update was the update that made me go out and pre-order it. And I finally got the Wii for Christmas/birthday (they are two days apart) so I am very much anticipating February 10 like every Smash fan.

I think it should be the 10th. Otherwise, they are breaking the street date. Of course, they will have it in the stores on the 7th.

I've been asking my friends ever since Halo 3 had a midnight launch if Brawl would do the same (as pretty much every one of 'em works at our local Gamestop), and they don't know if corporate is doing something like that yet...but they also had a Guitar Hero 3 midnight release, and my friends said that "more people are probably willing to wait until the day after to get GH3 than Brawl." So I suppose we'll see.

The shipping date is actually earlier, the 8th. Since Nintendo knows this is a big release, they are making sure it becomes available on the 10th. Some stores ARE doing midnight releases, too. ;D
