There was already an entry detailing how we’ve brought back some of the stages from Super Smash Bros. Melee...
So here are some more stages that can also be played in Super Smash Bros. Brawl!Yoshi’s IslandThe steep slopes on either side are its defining characteristic. That central platform screams "accident!"CorneriaBattle atop the Great Fox!Of course, Arwings come flying in, too.OnettThe offensive and defensive struggles on the buildings of Onett return!Whoa, whoa, whoa! Watch out for cars.BrinstarIt’s the dreaded, legendary ocean of acid! The rising and falling ocean of acid changes the field of play greatly.Rainbow RideTour the course in this forced scrolling stage. The boat sinks mid-trip and you embark on a roundabout tour! This is amazing! Is this a lavish feast or what? I can tell you that for everyone working on this game, the amount of content has been surprising to say the least.

Thought the update was going to be better, but I'm happy to see some favourite SSBB stages return, well manly Onett. But there could have been worse picks. Also what is the PT standing on in this pic? It looks like a (new) rock structure in the background.

Cool. They picked good stages IMO. Although for Super Mario 64 stuff, I'd have loved to see a Tick Tock Clock stage this time around.
Also, I'm wishing for the return of the Arwing call easter egg from the Corneria stage. That kind of things make these stages very enjoyable. New versions of their original BGMs would be more than welcome, too.

Well.... it's the best update of the year.
I think they made a new platform for him. I guess we can expect to see that in other stages too.

Could the Onett stage mean that Ness has a good chance at appearing in SSBB?

Could the Onett stage mean that Ness has a good chance at appearing in SSBB? I hope so. But they could just as easily bring it back for some rep for the lone Mother game to cross the ocean. On a side note, what dose Tonzura mean? Thats on the side of the Runaway Five's bus in the screen shot. I'm glad to see the levels return that did. the only one i feel meh about is Brinstar. This is also gonna be some killer music additons, or readditions.

This is so cool! All of these stages were my favorites exept for Rainbow Ride...I HATE THAT STAGE! Oh and I just found this out...I think Ness is gone sadly. Look at this qoute from the Lucas Special moves update. UP UNTIL NOW. VERY SIMILAR. I'm sure he is gone. But you can never lose hope.

Nintendo of America thought they could get sued for having some characters resembling the "Blues Brothers".

I meant maybe Nintendo wanted some Earthbound content since it was the only Mother game released here. And thanks for the info about the Runaway Five's name.

My friend always manages to accidently fall in there once per match. Whenever he does he mumbles 'I hope this stage gets cut'. Harhar I like all these returning stages, even the Brinstar one with it's breakable cells, though I hope Brawl doesn't have less new ones because of all these. And I didn't notice the PT in Brinstar. I guess he'll just ride a carpet or whatever on the Rainbow Ride stage too. Could the Onett stage mean that Ness has a good chance at appearing in SSBB? Who knows, but I think these stages are here to represent the games they're from because the new Brawl stages don't. Like the new Yoshi stage being based on SMW2 and another new one will probably be another Yoshi's Story stage (maybe the N64 one?), so this one is here to represent SMW again. The same could be with the Onett stage, but it's just a guess. Man, I do hope Fourside returns though... that stage had some good wall jumping going on.

I guess it's nice to be able to play on all of these...but I'm really hoping these aren't just being tossed in to make up for the possible lack of new stages. If there's one thing I want, it's alot of cool, NEW stages...

Some nice choices for returning courses. Like Goomba Joe, I think the idea they are going for is to represent as many games as possible.

I just noticed that the last stage is called "Rainbow Ride" and not "Rainbow Cruise".
This is awesome!
They're correcting their mistakes from melee. The stage was called Rainbow Cruise in Japanese in Mario 64, but they changed it to rainbow Ride for the USA. Unfortunately they missed that detail when localizing Melee.
Now here it is... FIXED.

I knew that first update wouldn't be enough! just hope they don't go overboard and include more that these stages for each character. It might take away from whatever new stages they have planned.
