Indeed, a lot better than the previous one... good to see some LucasArts adventures there as well

I think the list is pretty bad. But then again, expecting something like this of good caliber from IGN is like expecting a 6 year-old to direct Chinatown.
No, I don't much care for IGN.

I think the list is pretty bad. Did you see the previous list? Now that was bad. I think this one was a huge improvement... but yeah, it could've been better.

I hate all IGNs lists. But the last one was based on user ratings, so it was bound to be trouble.

At least there's plenty of retro first party Nintendo titles on it. ;D

# 097 // F-Zero # 076 // Tetris Attack # 070 // Pokemon Red/Blue (aren't they 2 individual games?) # 064 // Advance Wars # 058 // Super Smash Bros. Melee (Kill it, it should be the first!) # 052 // Metroid Prime # 046 // Super Mario World # 044 // Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (I hate IGN's lists) # 037 // Wave Race 64 # 023 // Super Mario Bros. 3 # 015 // Super Mario Kart # 011 // Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past # 010 // Super Metroid # 005 // Super Mario 64 # 003 // Tetris # 002 // Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time # 001 // Super Mario Bros.
These are the Nintendo related ones. It's quite different from my view.
I won't comment on it - it's a wastage of energy to do it!

I like IGN personally, and have little problems with that list - I would have put Yoshi's Island higher, I wouldn't have put Halo in 30th, either (it seemed to me like they're main reasoning was because it was a 'system seller' - that doesn't make it a good game. While I never got into OoT, I can't see why anybody would have a problem with the top 3 - the granddaddy of all platformers, one of, if not the, best transistions from 2D to 3D, and the granddaddy, and, argueably most addictive of all puzzle games - whats wrong with that? I'm also glad to see Super Mario Kart get some respect - for a 2 player party game, 15 is very good. I don't have any real qualms with it. And comparing it to the fan list is stupid - if you compare it to anything, compare it to their last Editor's Top 100, which saw a very similar top 5 and was also quite good from memory.

Listen to DIU people.
You know, I love the way IGN puts out a list and everybdy says it's "crap" because it doesn't have the games in it that THEY like. Stop being so close-minded! There are other games that people like other than what you like. I speak to nobody specifically, just the narrow view that seems to be prevalent around Nintendo-specific forums.
The last list was a readers' vote list - it was not biased - it was developed via an accumulation of reader votes, and so was quite objective in determining what IGN readers liked, which is EXACTLY what it was supposed to do.
And this editor's list is just that - a list of the EDITORS' favourite games of all time. You don't have to agree with them.
This wasn't meant to sound angry - just try to keep an open mind on such lists - they aren't law you know...

Yeah... but everyone knows democracy only works if their views are unbiased and impartial... which is why so many morons are successful politicians

It was just because it came out recently. This list is alot better than the last one, though.

It's the same with a lot of things. Find a list of Top 100 songs of all time... five years ago the top 30 would have been filled with boy bands... now it'd be filled with R&B acts...
That's the problem with reader votes, really. But let's be honest... these things are usually meaningless. I'd like to know WHY some games are considered to be better than others. There's no comparison.

A much better list from the older one. But, why is SSBM so low on the list? It should atleast be in the 20's. It's probably the best game on Gamecube.

RE4 didn't get first this time because this was an editor's list, not a reader's list. The editors of a game site, particularly one as large as IGN, should, at least in theory, know more about games, particularly older games, and be able to judge accordingly. Alot of the readers that picked RE4 could very well have made their votes after just playing RE4, while the editors, you would assume / hope would have worked on their's for a while. Of course, the whole system of ranking one game vs. another game is stupid - you can have two completely diffrent games which are both great - but which is "better"?

They also should have put Animal Crossing on the list... Also, Super Mario Bros. is good... but the best game ever? No way. Just thought I'd say some bad stuff about the list.
