About a year ago, I was on GameFAQs on the Melee page looking at the FAQ page when I came across this excellent FAQ: www.gamefaqs.com/console/gamecube/file/516492/16403It's a Nostalgia FAQ, a guide to the many references in Melee. Things like Character attacks, music, the stages, etc. This was right when new info on Brawl was becoming a regular thing, and I decided "Hey, when Brawl comes out, I should do one." So Brawl comes out in a little under two months here in the US, so I decided I should get a head start on the things we already know about it. However, major Nintendo nerd I may be, there are still a few blind spots in my knowledge. Since my fellow posters here are the most knowledgable people I pseudo know when it comes to Nintendo stuff, I thought I'd ask if anyone would care to help me with a few things in it. The closer Brawl gets to release, I'll probably have more things to ask about it. I'll probably post part of it here when I get closer to completion. Thanks in advance everyone!

Sounds awesome! I'll be looking forward to it. Speaking of which, this guy did a whole video series on the "History Behind Super Smash Bros. Melee", which pretty much details everything...and being a video series, it's more entertaining. Very well done, check them out: nz.youtube.com/profile?user=CrappyCaptureDevice

Yeah, CrappyCaptureDevice goes into every detail from Melee and explains it, all in video form. He said he won't do Brawl, so anyone else is able to hold the torch...

Didn't Fry say he was working on a guide like this?

Didn't Fry say he was working on a guide like this? I think it was just a cameo guide, not in depth like the one I'm working on. Feel free to correct me, Fry.

Yeah, I think Fry is planning on doing this with the SSB guides. I think that's why he took down the 64 and Melee ones - to work on them. Doesn't mean you can't make one too, though.

Thanks Smashchu. On a side note related to my guide, am I the only one who noticed the Star Spin in Mario Galaxy looked and acted like the Mario Tornado from Melee?

Thanks Smashchu. On a side note related to my guide, am I the only one who noticed the Star Spin in Mario Galaxy looked and acted like the Mario Tornado from Melee? Aren't both based on Mario's spin jump from SMW?

Thanks Smashchu. On a side note related to my guide, am I the only one who noticed the Star Spin in Mario Galaxy looked and acted like the Mario Tornado from Melee? Aren't both based on Mario's spin jump from SMW? I never thought about the Star spin being based on the spin jump... Galaxy had everything else tho, so prolly. And the Mario Tornado didn't have enough vertical spin. Doesn't mean its not inspired by it, as I note.

I can only imagine how many CCC wannabe's there will be when Brawl comes out. I bet there will be alot of people who just have no idea what they're talking about.
(Speaking of which, while watching his videos I noticed Johan's Nidorino helped him out with a few. Small world.)
He said he'll go back and so some of the character videos over again, because he did miss a few things, and alot of them are much longer than they need to be. And..... he pronounces "melee" wrong.

Hey, more power to you.
Although I think NinDB will do what you are trying to.

Bumpin'. Cyric Z posted a guide a while back, but it seems to have fallen off the rails: www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/file/928518/52067I had given up on mine since he finished his and I had all of the levels and music to get through. After checking his again, he hasn't updated in almost two monthes and I still have a better alt costumes section. Plus this bit of oddness I just noticed: Wario's dizzy animation seems to be based off of Dizzy/Drunk Wario from Wario Land 2 & 3! Best way to test is training and hit him with a Deku Nut. Thanks to Coin Heaven for the GIF. spacepope4u.blogspot.com/2007/03/stumbling-wario.htmlEDIT: I think I may have found an Alt costume for the Ice Climbers. In the original Ice Climber,Nana wore a magenta parka instead of a pink one. Nana's red alt in Brawl seems to be an homage to this. Anyone else agree? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:IceClimberboxartnes.jpg

Actually been considering getting a group of people to work on something like that for Brawl. First I need a capture device, then I'll try it for Metal Gear games. Then see if he likes it and if anyone would help. Yeah, if I get time for that. <_<
