Yeah I was thinking that too.... Iwata did most of the talking here. Kind of a... non-interview. Yes, but a lot of it was interesting anyway. Stuff like how Sakurai's desire to make games accessible influenced Iwata, and therefore influenced the entire future of Nintendo, and their history together. Even got a bit on Kirby's Dream Land! ;D

I would agree there wasn't enough question and more rambling. It might just be how interviews work their. More personal and less about the facts. Either way, it did show some insight to Sakurai.

Interesting... Brawl was going to have simpler graphics and have nothing but Miis as characters. But thank goodness that didn't happen! Hmmm.... I wonder if Mii is a hidden character as a nod to the original idea for Brawl.

And its really fucking interesting. So it was Sakurai who came up with all this 'no name' stuff, its not to do with the limits of Nintendo's WFC.
I hope the fact Poke Floats / Big Blue were considered too complex doesn't mean they're completely gone - variety is a great thing.

Finally, FINALLY someone who people listen to said what was wrong with online for all these years.
He is kinda right what he is talking about spectator mode. Nowadays I enjoy watching gameplay videos on Youtube more than actually playing the game.

I'm pretty sure he's saying they've been removed in favor of Stage Creator - that he's relying on fans to "fill the gap" left by complicated stages. So I hope that means, if Big Blue and PokéFloats are gone, Stage Creator is diverse enough to really make up for it.

yeah, I took that to mean there's a large variety of crazy stuff you can make in the Stage Builder. hooray! it wouldn't be half as cool if you could only make static, non-interactive stages.

And they're probably prettier, too. I mean, you could probably make all the revealed stages in stage builder anyway - so does that mean none of them should be included? Of course not.

Hahaha, I love the whole bit about Shogo Sakai being so bad at games that they use him as a beginner guinea pig - and after 20 years working for HAL he's finally understanding how gamers feel thanks to Brawl.
Oh, and it's no huge surprise that Sakurai sat down with Kazushige Nojima of FF7 fame for the SSE storyline. Explains a lot.

Wow.... they're really making fun of Shogo Sakai. Poor guy. I hope he didn't read that....
Also... Kazushige Nojima............ WHAT?! You mean to tell me that the guy who made the story for Final Fantasy 7 worked on the Subspace Emmisary?!

Well, it's not exactly the guy who wrote the story for FF7, but rather the scenario writer. The scenario writer's work is to "materialize" the events told in the plot.
If the plot is the general view of a story, the scenario covers the little events and situations.

So we can pretty much expect to see Dedede jumping down from the sky and impaling Samus in the back.
