Questions:

Is the Party Ball considered a container alongside the Crate and Barrel now? If so... does it also get different designs based on the stage it appears on?

Where is the Red Shell - an SSB veteran?

Hm, I wonder if we have unlockable items this go-around. As for the Fireball, it reminds me of the enemies in Mario that leap out of lava...but that's only a guess.

Aw im surprised there is no Red Shell, but like Wildcat says maybe it is unlockable. I think the fireball thing looks like the angry sun that follows you around on SMB3 in the desert level, except not angry. That would be a cool item. Also, Phanto for Assist!

I saw videos of that fireball moving around the platform clockwise-style it was thrown on so I guess it's the enemy from Super Mario World or DK. Jr.

The SMB2 enemy are called Sparks, if I recall. Maybe they replaced the Red Shell?

That's a Sparky. It rotates around the platform just like the Mario games when unleashed. No lies. It was in a vid I watched. You can toss them to burn players too. Likely replaced the Red Shell.

The Stopwatch is similar to Lightning: you grab it to hurt all other players automatically. It either slows them down, slows you down, or speeds everything up.

Are there any other non-returning items besides the Red Shell and the Flipper? My memory's kinda fuzzy...

Where's the parasol gone?

The layout of that page makes me suspicious some items could be missing - otherwise whats there could have been arranged into a perfect rectangle rather than this shape.

Do you guys seriously think that's every item? It's selected on "MEDIUM".

If you select "HIGH" more items will become visible.

Maybe the soccer ball is from Animal Crossing.

Hopefully there are some hidden items. That would rule. Otherwise pretty good, but I'll never forget you parasol.

After checking out gameplay footage, I am positive the Soccer Ball is from Super Mario Strikers. You hit it and it will fire away. Sure sucks the Parasol, Red Shell, and Flipper got removed.

Red Shell might not be removed. It might just be lumped under "shell".

The Barrel Cannon is MIA as well.

Have we actually seen any of these missing items in screenshots? The Barrel Cannon and Parasol were a little lame in Melee, but we can't lose the Red Shell - it's a Smash Veteran! It causes everyone to panic and flee. It'd be like losing Bob-omb!
