Okay, so the guys at SWF are having a field day researching the nature of Brawl's DUAL LAYERS PEW PEW WHAM FLIZZA FLARE LASER SOUNDS!!!
...ahem. The evidence that we will find more on the 2nd layer is the following: -People that burned the .iso to play the game on modded Wiis could not access 1P Modes or Videos -There are gaps in the musical tracks we all downloaded the other night and demo players confirmed, in videos and otherwise, music that did NOT make the "final cut" -A few playable characters are missing trophy data in the .iso that was floating around, for example Yoshi's 2nd Smash trophy
There is also talk that a lot of ATs have yet to be seen in gameplay videos for whatever reason. Ridley is listed in the original .iso but not found anywhere; Andross and Rosalina have not been shown in any form; and characters that were confirmed at Whobby, E For All, and Jumpfesta such as Sothe and Onix have yet to be seen. It's silly to think they cut that much content from the game just before release, though still possible.
And as far as the character .pac files go, they are the same file size as Sheik's data and actually require their textures, motions, sounds, and other files to be full-fledged fighters. However, the size of such data is miniscule enough to be a "VC Comparable" download. In other words, the "missing files" can be received through a download. To add fuel to the fire, one of the missing tracks folks discovered but were unable to rip was titled "Purchase" and accompanied by "New Feature!" fanfares that were unheard of. Is this ghost data, or is there something Nintendo is hiding?
The argument against this is, of course, that it very well could be ghost data and that although it is 6 more fighters it doesn't fit the roster selection screen all too well.
It's only a matter of time before we find out, however. Maybe it will be Sakurai's final update?

It doesn't matter, though... Sakurai is sick of making sequels.. I mean, isn't that the reason he left Nintendo and/or HAL? I guess Sakurai doesn't want to make a SSB sequel after Brawl.. despite the fact that Brawl sold between 700k-940k in 4 days in Japan.

What Sakurai wants to do doesn't matter. Nintendo will make sequels with or without Sakurai.

I don't know if I could entrust SSB4 with Nintendo... they might add too many Mario, Pokemon, and Zelda characters and not add anything else from the other franchises, minor and dead alike.

In any case, that sounds neat Flip. And... it could happen. I remember swearing up and down that Brawl wouldn't have WiFi. That it had any (much less as good as what it does have) was a complete shocker. But it's only because I doubt the likelihood of downloadable extras that it could be possible.

6 downloadable extra characters? I wouldn't be surprised if they turned out to be Mewtwo, Roy, Dr. Mario, Dixie Kong, Toon Zelda, and Toon Sheik. I am not holding my breath for anything from Golden Sun, Nazo no Murasame Jou, Advance Wars, Duck Hunt, etc.

Nintendo rarely lets us down. Heck, few of their 2nd parties do. HAl could do it. They worked on Melee and this (some members from melee helped with Brawl). Of course, Sakurai could be suckered into it again becuase of the "foot-in-the-door phenomenon". Also, this is interesting stuff. Looks like the "Secret characters" are clones or from the last game. Makes sence since they are DLC. Although there is Mewtwo and Dixie to round out the package, as well as the fact some of those clones could change. Wonder if there are others like these on the other layer.

Yeah, I know... but it is just that Nintendo was going to make Brawl to be just exactly like Melee with nothing new other than Wi-Fi.

SSB4 without Sakurai would probably just be Brawl with a few new characters, a few more trophies, and some more stickers. Evidently thats all a whole bunch of people want anyway.

Yeah, I know... but it is just that Nintendo was going to make Brawl to be just exactly like Melee with nothing new other than Wi-Fi. Well, it's not that. They said they;d probably leave everything alone. So next Smash (if that was to happen) would be Brawl 2.0. More characters and what not, but everything else remains the same. Again, anything could happen. A new developer who has worked on the games may move in, or someone else from Nintendo could do it, or heck, even Sakurai.

Personally I don't think there are any downloadable characters. And I sincerey hope that they're not making anything that is only accessible to some people! (Recall Samus wthout helmet and Mario & Yoshi trophies) ...Although they're at it already. Only WiFi people can enjoy Sandbag hitting while waiting for a match. I want Intelligent Systems to do it. ... bwahahahaha. LOL. For as much as I know, IntSys is really bad when it comes to action games. Look at how silly the physics of Paper Mario series is - when it comes to Super Paper Mario, the problem became obvious - and STILL many people buy the game!
