Can't say I thought much of his movie though... It annoyed me even more that they got the Garfield character so RIGHT, and yet managed to produce the most dismal and cliched film.
Fun Garfield Fact: Bill Murray voiced Garfield in the Garfield film, and Lorenzo Music (RIP) voiced him in the cartoons. However, Lorenzo Music also voiced Bill Murray's character in The Real Ghostbusters cartoon series! A perfect voice match!

I'm a Garfield nut - have read all comics from 19th June 1978 to this this day (more or less this day anyway) and collect the chronological compilation books, but have never really watched the TV show...
Jim Davis (creator of Garfield) is a huge inspiration to my own cartooning exploits (and Matt Groening & Chuck Jones - WB animator during 1950s-60s).
That said - the movie really sucked... and I hate that cos I am a really big Garfield fan, and they messed it up by making it a cheesy kids movie...
They should have done a Shrek and animate the whole thing - that would have been AWESOME!
Anyways, what can you do?
Enough about Garfield... back to Nintendo...

I had a Garfield Game Boy game... one of the first GB games I owned... it was identical to another GB game aside from the character sprites. Basically, Garfield had to dig his way through a level using a pneumatic drill... yes, a cat with a drill... and solve puzzles using his drill, his poor jump and various other unidentifiable things. What a crock of crap that was. Thank God for Q*Bert for Game Boy.  |

Now, this is just a wild guess, but I'd say it has something to do with your picture of Garfield... just maybe... ;D
