The Conduit is an exclusive Wii FPS game from developer High Voltage Software. The has been built from the ground up for the Wii. Trailer. The only problem the game has is that it currently has no publisher but after the game was first announced exclusively on IGN, it ended up getting a lot of attention. This game is made by the same team (and runs on the same game engine designed for the Wii) as WiiWare launch title V.I.P. Casino: Blackjack and upcoming WiiWare games Gyrostarr and Animales de la Muerte. Here's a video of the games engine in action (scroll down the page to see it).

FPS? Will it be like Metroid Prime 3? (I'm at school so I can't watch the videos)

FPS? Will it be like Metroid Prime 3? (I'm at school so I can't watch the videos) It's an FPS game built from the ground up for the Wii. As in running around picking up guns and shooting bad guys FPS. It is not an FPA like MP3.

I'm glad a developer has taken this attitude with the Wii. It's too bad I don't care for FPS's.
From the early video, the graphics are good, but I don't know if they're as close to 360 quality as some people are claiming. If you compare it to Metroid Prime 3, I don't think it looks as impressive, but that might have something to do with the art direction.

We seem to be living in an FPS frenzy. They seem to be the only games people care about nowadays.

There are no full levels yet. IGN has also said that there was 638 comments on the video which only happen of games that are of a GTA calibur. The "deathmatch authorised" quote at the end of the trailer may be confirmed by IGN at the end of the week.

I think The Conduit has potential. If it succeeds really well, I know that High Voltage Software would definately remain a loyal third-party developer. Heck, I think if they show the positive reaction to the idea, High Voltage Software could get NINTENDO to publish it. Even if Nintendo is into this current craze, they would be likely to jump on having an exclusive FPS for their system just to say they did have one.

That tech demo was a little disappointing, to be honest. There were some nice effects in there, but it looked no better than stuff that came out on the Gamecube! It would have been nice to see a little more effort go into really showing off how the engine is pushing the system, as their game definitely isn't winning any awards for original art direction either

Kinda reminds me of a mixture between Timesplitters and Metroid Prime. We seem to be living in an FPS frenzy. They seem to be the only games people care about nowadays. FPS on Xbox 360 are like 10:1 now!

That's why I don't care that my Xbox is broken.

There's still a handful of Xbox games that have my attention - not one of them is an FPS. Look at it the other way: Casual Party games are like 10:1 on Wii right now. I think I'd actually prefer a few FPSs

I think that they have proved that they can and can't make good FPS for the Wii. Red Steel wasn't great in my opinion but games like RE4 (though not strictly FPS) have great controls that could similarly be used in new games. Also there is a lack of RPG's

Hell, all I'd want an XBOX for would be for the RARE games.
I'd actually consider a PS3, if, you know, I didn't have to sell my organs to afford one.

You know I'm not interested in either Xbox 360 or PS3 really.
Xbox 360 Pros: Best Online Service Best Third-Party games for Consoles so far Best Controller, IMO
Xbox 360 Cons: Hardware that dies if you sneeze Have to pay $50 for online multiplayer Have to be online if you want to play XBLA titles if your previous console died
PS3 Pros: Has Blu-Ray Has Ports of some Xbox 360 games Has reliable hardware
PS3 Cons: Price requires you to take out a Bank Loan Can only play PS2 games with a currently discontinue model that if we are lucky, will appear with MGS4 as a pack-in Not a worthy successor to the aforementioned PS2
And just because I can, I shall do the Wii as well.
Wii Pros: Motion Sensitive Controller Nintendo Games Classic Games from Classic Consoles and the GameCube Support Reliable Nintendo Hardware
Wii Cons: Online service on par with the Sega Genesis Support from dubious third-party game companies Good third-parties still peeved about Nintendo's restrictions that ended with the Super Nintendo
The Wii really wins out because of price, reliable hardware and Nintendo games to me.
