Yeah, if I didn't already have the Dreamcast version, I'd DL it.
It does seem kinda random that all those Neo Geo games have been coming out on the Wii. When Neo Geo games first started hitting the VC, they petered out after about the first dozen or so, and I thought it would end up like the Master System or Commodore 64. But now Neo Geo is all we've gotten after everything else has dried up.
Jeremy Parish thought that maybe it was because there was a small group of hardcore Neo Geo fans that were willing to buy anything. I kinda wonder if maybe all these games were submitted to NoA for approval a couple of years ago, and only now are being released.

Looks like Sengoku 3 is hitting the Wii VC in NA this week. ( Source) The first two Sengoku games aren't that good, but the third one is generally considered one of the best, if not the best, beat'em-up on the Neo Geo. I'm really tempted to go for this one.

Ooh, that's good news. I may pick this one up too whenever I get a Wii Points card.

Has anyone played "PICROSS e"? Just found it in the eShop. I would download it if it had new puzzles. Too bad it doesn't seem to have a versus mode, though.

North American only promo for buyers of FE:A and SMTIV. tmblr.co/ZbdYaypFVEVa- You will need to buy both Fire Emblem: Awakening and Shin Megami Tensei IV to receive the $30 eShop credit This works with both digital and retail copies — just make sure to register your Club Nintendo codes (if you bought a limited edition Fire Emblem 3DS, link your system with Club Nintendo) - It doesn’t matter if you already bought Fire Emblem: Awakening months ago; all you need to do is register both games and complete their registration surveys before August 31 - You can use the credit on any eShop product (3DS or Wii U) you want, but you’ll need to retrieve your special code from the Club Nintendo site before September 31, and redeem the code on the eShop before December 31 - You can get only one $30 credit per Club Nintendo account, and both game codes must be registered to the same account I'll admit this offer seems weird but it must be some sort of test to see how much the NA FE fans and SMT fans overlap before SMT/FE crossover is released?

It sounds pretty tempting, actually. If I can somehow get 30 USD off, I'd give SMT IV a try too. But it really is an odd combination.

It's actually quite sensible when you remember that Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem is in the works.

I was surprised nobody showed any excitement for EarthBound. But I guess we're all Nintendo nerds and historians that emulated or even had/imported an original copy in all these 15+ years.

Excitement for Earthbound, huh? Flint was happy to learn the news in dA, but otherwise I haven't seen much reaction. But yeah, most EarthBound fans probably have the game, either as the original copy or via emulation.
Also, 10 dollars / 7 Euro to download this? Japan had it for 30 yen (roughly 30 US cents) during the Famicom 30th campaign.
I wonder if the overseas version of this game has its text edited. Did they replace all instances of "Pokey" with "Porky"?

I'm actually happy as shit they finally rereleased it (and for the first time in Europe!) and I'd buy it for the sake of showing my support, despite having bought a 2nd-hand copy for $$$ not too long ago. But I don't have a WiiU, so yeah If you want to look for reactions, just check out the Earthbound thread on NeoGaf. Plenty of people excited the franchise finally gets some recognition and plenty of people who are playing it for the first time right now who think it holds up very well... in the music and writing department mostly. It's a pretty oldschool jRPG afterall. I don't think they changed a whole lot. Some battle effects seem to be different, but none of the music seems to have been changed. Basically the whole music copyright theory was total bunk. Hell, they stated that the fans' constant begging about a Western release on the Miiverse page was a huge factor in finally bringing it over, so it seems to me it really was just NoA still being iffy about EB's flop that kept it from being released on the Wii's VC much, much earlier.

For the three of you in North America who cared about the Commodore 64 on Wii Virtual Console, I hope you downloaded all the games you wanted, because they have all been removed. ( Source)
