Gurumin 3D is out on the 3DS eShop today in North America. I've mentioned it in the Falcom thread, but if you like Zelda or just cute action-adventure games, I would encourage you to check it out. It has a very "Dreamcast"-like charm to it (it originally came out in Japan in 2004). Here's the extended launch trailer: I love this game. It has a really nice charm and I like Parin's design and personality. The only criticism I have with it is for me it's not always clear where to go before unlocking a level, but the levels are full of action and it has nice music as well.

^ Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
And just in case YL still had any interest in it, maybe I could mention that the game is apparently also on the Japanese eShop now.

Pokemon Crystal is coming to the 3DS VC in Jan 26th, with wireless features and Pokebank support.
Going to be interesting to see the sales for this version, I know I held off getting either G/S because I thought it would be better to wait for Crystal version with more content.

Going to be interesting to see the sales for this version, I know I held off getting either G/S because I thought it would be better to wait for Crystal version with more content. Yeah. I feel it might outsell Gold/Silver for the same reasons, will be interesting to compare the sales too. It's nice that this time the game was altered so that once you enter the Hall of Fame it activates an event that gives you the GS Ball when you step into Goldenrod City's Pokémon Center, which you can give to Kurt to inspect for a day, and later place in the shrine in Ilex Forest to encounter Celebi. Though Celebi was available for both a Gold/Silver Bank promotion and an early Pokémon Bank promotion, there are a few special things about this; first that the older Pokémon Bank events weren't actually to download Celebi on the Virtual Console games but for Generation VI/VII. Celebi was originally available outside of Japan in the Game Boy games from events, but with the save battery issue most of those Celebi have probably disappeared from people's save files now. I don't know for sure whether the Ilex Forest event was available outside of Japan (in Japan it was available with the Mobile GB Adapter for the defunct Mobile System GB service), but I remember reading something on The Cutting Room Floor regarding the Goldenrod City GS Ball gift sequence (the one that the staff decided to enable it for the Virtual Console event), that the GS Ball distribution was once available before Virtual Console. In Crystal Virtual Console the Ilex Forest Celebi is not Shiny locked, meaning Shiny hunters can hunt for it with (what's assumed to be as it was the same in the original game) 1/8192 odds. A few have already found it, and I'm tempted to hunt for one too. Additionally the Celebi can be nicknamed, which is very nice, and I wonder whether this is the first time Shiny Celebi is legal (there was some disagreement to whether the Japanese Colosseum Bonus Disc was Shiny locked but it apparently is). It's a little sad that (including for Japanese players) they haven't re-enabled the online trades, online battles and online Battle Tower features, but I imagine it might be tricky and Nintendo would have to manage hosting the server somewhere (which was originally, interestingly at gameboy.datacenter.ne.jp which you can find referenced in the ROM). This also means the Battle Tower is forever closed in the Japanese versions, as the Japanese Battle Tower was for other player's rosters only and didn't feature an offline version like the localizations did. Here is a video on how global trades at the Pokémon Communications Center worked. It's quite similar to the GTS.

Did anyone notice that Konami released an obscure Japan-only PC-Engine RPG on the Wii U Virtual Console? In 2018? Completely un-localized? Well, it's a thing that happened.

In things I'm personally surprised by, Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers (demo out now in NA, next week for PAL regions?) is actually getting a PAL physical release when I thought it was going to download only.

I'm interested how it will be received, and it's nice to see Dillon's return. That physical release sounds interesting. It seems a number 3DS games like this with the exception of Freakyforms Deluxe and Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash have stayed download only.

So, uh, Arcade Archives: Donkey Kong stealth-dropped on the eShop this morning...
Furthermore, Sky Skipper is announced for next month.
The Treehouse Live segment for it was pretty interesting because it included Don James. I'll post it in the E3 thread whenever it's available on YouTube.

Both are quite surprising news. Donkey Kong because of that Ikegami fiasco, and Sky Skipper because hey, they didn't forget it!
I hope this means they'll be making Radar Scope too.

Donkey Kong is arguably more interesting from a raw legalistic sense, what with the lawsuit and all that. IT's also got the stuff showing off the completionist aspect of the Arcade Archives with the various modes.
But Sky Skipper is the one that's really interesting. I'll certainly pick it up when it comes out. Wonder if we'll get any nods in Smash this time around, sense it's been such a interesting part of Nintendo's history recently, with the preservation and stuff.

We need Popeye and Radarscope to bring everything full circle.

It's probably a little late but Nintendo is having it's usual E3 eShop sale where games at E3 get there previous entries on the eShop to be sold at an discount for once.
Now if you can only buy one, is it worth buying either the VC version of either Mario Tennis (GBC) or Mario Tennis: Power Tour (GBA) especially when the former has inaccessible N64/GBC Transfer Pak content?

WarioWare Gold demo has been out on the Euro eShop for the past few days. Has a nice selection of microgames, it's fun. Also confirms that Gamer minigame from Game & Wario will return in Gold. Also Wario has full voice acting in cutscenes.

So I downloaded Sky Skipper today, and I got to say, I think the game is a lot of fun. Between it and Donkey Kong, I think I prefer Sky Skipper, the gameplay is really to my taste.
