Do any of you have a Nintendo character that really just gets on your nerves?
For me it's Waluigi. I just can't seem to find any justification for this character's existence. When Wario came out, it made sense: an evil version of Mario with the "M" turned upside down to form a "W." And with Mario's popularity, it seemed appropriate to make a character that was jealous of his fame.
For Waluigi, an upside down "L" wasn't going to work. So they actually thought they could just add "Wa" in front of Luigi's name. I personally don't think that works either.
And why Waluigi? Is it because Luigi is so popular that they needed a character to be jealous of him? Nope. Or is it because Wario needed a partner? Not a chance.
I can tolerate Waluigi as he tries to better himself at sports and parties, but I really hope he never gets his own game.
By the way, I think it would have been interesting and surprising to discover at the end of Super Mario Land 2 that Wario was actually Luigi's alter ego. Luigi is usually so kind and lovable and accepting of his brother's fame. Why couldn't there be a dark side to that?
Anyway, what are some other least favorite characters?

I think Waluigi would have been the worst character ever had he not turned out to be one of the best characters in his debut game, Mario Tennis. I quickly accepted him into Nintendo lore, and his steady stream of appearances-but-not-actually-proper-games has made me feel that the next Wario Land game SHOULD make use of him somehow.
Now Toadette! THERE is a character who should never have been created! Come on... there were plenty of female Toads in Paper Mario they could have used... but why did it have to be female at all? Why not Toadsworth? Why not some other small character from a Mario game... but nooo... had to be a NEW pink Toad.
PS. If anyone says Tingle I shall hunt them down and Kooloo Limpah them until they explode.

I have 3.
1.Waluigi-Pretty much the same reasons as Geno.
2.Luigi-I just don't like him. I really hate the fact that people say he has better jumping abilities than Mario. In most games they are exactly the same. Only Super Mario Bros. 2(Which was a dream, I highly doubt Peach can really fly, or that Toad is stronger/faster then all of them), Super Mario Bros. Lost Levels, and Super Smash Bros.(But Peach is based on her dream version, so it can't be used as proof.) And in Luigi's Mansion he couldn't jump at all!
3.The Dog-How I hated that dog. I was young, my aim wasn't the best, but that didn't matter to him. He would just keep laughing at me...stupid dog...
Also, I agree with Fryguy. Mr. Tingle is awesome.

I partialy agree with Fryguy64 here (well, except for the Tingle thing, but I won't go there). With the vast amount of Mario characters out there, there's absolutly no reason for roster filles like Waluigi and Toadette. What about the Koopa Kids? The Hammer Bros? Goombas? Why do they insist on making worthless characters? Hammer Bros. would'a been a great compliment to Wario. Toadsworth or a Goomba would have been a great compliment for Toad. And I just want to see the Koopa Kids come back in some Mario Party/Golf/Tennis/Kart game.
No more useless filler characters!

I always thought Luigi was so loved. Have you played Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga by any chance? I would find it very hard to dislike either Mario brother after that double-act comedy fest As for Luigi jumping higher than Mario, yes they are usually the same, but Nintendo has tried to give Luigi a higher jump and less traction ever since the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 in 1986... and that's an awfully long part of the series. Aside from the ones you mention there's also the entire Super Mario Advance series. However, don't forget that just about every Mario game between Super Mario All*Stars and Super Mario Advance didn't actually have playable Luigi in. I'll stop defending him. Just play M&L:SS all the way through. If you still hate him then... well... heart of coal! HEART OF COAL!!

Yes, I've played Mario & Luigi. One of my favorite games ever. After playing it I liked him a little more, but not much.
I didn't know that they changed Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Advanced. So that just leaves...Super Mario Bros., Mario Bros., and Mario & Luigi in which they have the same jumping abilities. I guess I can't argue with Nintendo.

They probebly gave Luigi different abbilities in SMB2(Japan) because they were to iddentical, and Luigi would seem noting more than a 2-p repleca of Mario....there I am, thinking again...

I have two.
1. Tingle: I don't care what you or anyone else says. A middle aged midget in spandex should not be allowed in a game. I'd pop his bubble over a pit of lava any day.
2. Adam Ver2.0: The disembodied brain of adam put into a computer? Wow. That's dumb. How come he never showed his idiosyncracies until you found out? That was enough to make me hate him forever. Adam! Come back!

A middle-aged man in a full-body green spandex is exactly what should be on our screens... 24/7! All the kids want to wear the latest Tingle fashions! The red underpants on the outside just underlines his super-style! Tingle Tingle Kooloo Limpah! There are the magic words that Tingle wrote himself. DON'T STEAL THEM!!
I take it you're referring to Adam Malkovitch in Metroid Fusion? I love the way we're supposed to have some kind of rapport with this character who has never been mentioned even once in any other Metroid game... before or since!
On the subject of Metroid and Brains... I can't say I was too fond of the Captain N version of Mother Brain... or in fact the Captain N versions of any of the game heroes/villains in it. I mean... what the crap is up with Mega Man!?

Actually, I thought Tingle was a very comical part of Majora and Windwaker. Oh, and we ALL know HE started that "Clock around your neck" fad, not Flava Flave.
Now, least favorite, I'd have to say....uh......Dai....No.....Mal....Nah....I've actually tolerated many Nintendo Characters, including Slippy, making him wait for me to shoot the enemy who was chasing him made me laugh.
How about Ruto? Having to carry her throughout Lord Jabu-Jabu's belly was very annoying.

My turn... ;D
OK, well... I don't like Tingle - he scares me - he looks OK in WW, but in MM he is really creepy... methinks anyways...
As for Luigi - he is my favourite character in the Mario Bros. universe, and in nay game at all - he is cool and I thought it was very neat (interesting choice of word seeing as I have never said "neat" in this context before in my life...) to get an entire game based on him with LM.
Waluigi... never played a game with him in it, but I do know that his name drives itself from the word "evil" in Japanese somehow (much like Wario's name, which coincidently is similar to "Mario) - Waluigi translates somewhat to "Waruigi" and so the name was tweaked to match up with Luigi's name... to give the green-clad guy a rival.
I also find Toad annoying, and was pleased to be able to jump of the Toad-esuque people's heads repeatedly in SMS...
That about does it form me!

Yeah, Warui means evil in Japanese... apparently. So his name isn't just "Luigi" with a Wa before it.
