I thought it was just a heavy Italian accent, but yeah "So long King Bowser" makes enough sense... it's still my favourite Mario sound clip... and my favourite Bowser fight! ;D

Sounds more like it... but I'm still not sure. I'm sure it ends in "ski" or "zee"... like Bowsee or Bowski.
Also, does anyone know if the Japanese version has the same soundclip? He's not called Bowser over there, so it would be odd if it was.

Maybe they only had that clip for US and PAL versions, and had just a regular throwing sound for the Japanese version.

Ok, getting off-topic over here.
I thought Shadow Mario, even though he is essential to the plot of SMS, was a pretty useless character. I mean, we already have Luigi, Wario, Baby Mario (separate character in the spin-offs), Metal Mario (separate character SSB) & Dr. Mario (separate character in SSBM). Do we really need more "alternative Marios"? And there's more to it: Bowser Jr. and Shadow Mario are separate characters in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, thus generating a huge inconsistensy.
Although not all that is Shadow Mario-related is bad: Mecha Bowser in Pinna Park in SMS was a pretty cool semi-boss.

You're right - how many veriations of the same character can you have???
I think SMS would have benefitted greatly (and I mean GREATLY) from more Mecha-Bowser "WOW" style bosses and things of the sort... it kind of got boring and slow... still a good game, but Mario is supposed to be at the lead of platform game innovation... that seemed to stop after SM64...
I want innovation damn it!!! ;D

Hmm... none of the characters really bother me that much. But if I had to choose one it'd probably have to be Birdo. Birdo is very scary. ;D
As a side note... I love the Cataquacks! The blue ones, anyway. I figured their name was either a play on 'cataracts' (they don't seem to have any eyes) or something to do with 'caterpiller' since a Cataquack is pretty much just a part of Wiggler's body with a beak stuck on.

I think you'll find it's a play on "catapult" seeing as that's what they do to you.

Accually I really liked Waluigi... and hated him at the same time(weird, I know) in Mario Tennis he seemed to hate Luigi, if only Nintendo would explain to use why he does(and Wario too) that would make the Mario series more intresting.

Well, Wario is jealous of Mario because Mario has castles and money and princesses and adventures. Wario also has these things now, but only through thievery and greed. But he still covets everything Mario has.
Perhaps Waluigi is driven to have everything Luigi has. Err... a mansion and a vacuum cleaner. And the ability to be turned into a surfboard! ;D
